AMD technik one click!! How do i use???

i might buy an amd technik off my mate but i dont know how to use it

do i have to get it configured to my specific cooper or does it work straight away.

if so where do i get this done??

Yes you need to get it reprogrammed for your specific ECU. You get it done here:

http://amdtechnik.com/

From memory, it costs around £200-300 to be reprogrammed.

DO NOT plug it in until you have had it configured for your car!

thats alot!! just for reprogramming.

so its a bit pointless then me buying it off him, since i need to get it reprogrammed for my mini.

if i buy a new one will the price include the programming for my mini

Yes it will be ready for YOUR car.

Think of it from AMD's point of view. If re-programming was, lets say, £50, all that would happen is you and some other Mini owners would just buy a single OneClick between you and each pay £50 to reprogramme it for each of your cars rather than getting one each at £399+vat.

They'd hardly sell any! You'd just use it and then put it on ebay.

AMD were also recently taken over by Bigboystoys and I know some people have had problems getting them to reprogramme their oneclicks

I wouldn't bother

I would imagine it'd be not that noticeable but i've not done the 'before and after' test in a Cooper so i couldn't say for sure.
