What to expect from a GTT220 conversion

I am in next week for my GTT 220 conversion. just wondering what to expect. I have a boggo standard MCS with Milltek Manifold and exhaust. Will the difference between now and when done be very noticebale or not. I have never driven any MCS that is anything but standard. Also wodering what difference i am going to get by having the manifold on mine too. Will this make the GTT220 conversion better or not much difference. Cheers, just dont want to get my hopes too much that its gonnna be quick

yes much quicker, esp when your moving, best between 30-70+
the feel of power on tap is amazing, drove a jcw mcs [2005, 210] just prior to conversion as a bench mark, and the gtt 220 knocks the socks of it
you will not be disappointed, wish i had done it day one
i cant comment on milltec from personal experience, but reading other posts sounds like a good combination

What to expect?

Huge fun!

Again, don't have a Miltek manifold , but love the GT220 conversion. Better sound, better grunt, better fun. It's just better.

Enjoy

Thinking of getting this done to mine too. I know you don't buy a MCS if you care about fuel consumpton, but any idea how much the MPG will change?

Would love this mod once Warranty period is out. \Would imagine the insureace premiums go up somewhat!

Anyone got an example they would care to share ( before / after )

So does it actually give 220bhp or is that just a rough figure? I know so tuners like MTH use to be a little "creative" with their figures, but I put alot more trust in Rolands conversions and engineering

Main reason for asking is I have all the stuff used in the GTT220 conversion plus some extra, (GTT JCW hybrid air box is the only difference) but I did it over stages so never quite got the big 50 bhp kick in power from 170bhp to 220bhp in one go

Thumbs up

I'd echo S&M's comments; my MCS not only feels a lot quicker but a lot more rounded - it now feels like the complete package.

Blusox: I had my MCS rolling road tested recently and saw 211 hp at the flywheel, bearing in mind that the intercooler fan used was not great i.e. a small fan pointed in the general direction of the IC I think the numbers are pretty accurate.

GTT, GRS, Janspeed, JCW, OMP + various other bits - 232.6bhp, 191.2lbft on 1320's rolling road

TBH I didn't see much change in MPG during day to day driving although when having some "fun" driving I used 1/4 tank in 28 miles !

Just for comparison I have GTT220, enlarged crank pulley, GTT manifold, JCW exhaust, GRS intercooler and soon to have JCW injectors

Ant.

I'm running the GTT230 kit on my S,, with a Milltek Manifold and Milltek Exhaust , the car is quiet on normal cruising , then when you floor it the sound kicks in, i rarely use the stereo in the car now, the sound of the engine is the best. As for performance, i beat a fiat coupe turbo off the line with ease, and up to 100.. Not sure were abouts you are in the UK, but your welcome to see the car..

Yeah expect yourself to

- love the higher pitched whine
- find yourself at cruising speed on the motorway in the blink of an eye
- wear a seatbelt if Roland takes you out for a spin

I find low revs to be much less smooth than my brother's JCW 210... but at high revs things really kick off. Wonder if that's anything to do with not getting an ECU remap?

Cheers
