Is an ECU Remap worth it??

I've read a lot of topics about the MTH remap and how it does increase drivability and response but not that much on power. Is it really worth it to buy a remap or should i spend my $400 on something else that would give me more power? Any opinions and experiences will be helpful. Thanks.

A reduction supercharger pulley is the best bang for your buck.

Sorry, I'm talking about possibly doing this after i install a 15% pulley, Alta CAI, and NGK plugs. So I'm wondering if i will see enough benefits in power from the remap to justify the cost.

Spend it on something else. That's my opinion. I've had the 15% pulley, CAI and exhaust done and have been running on the pulley without remap for nearly 6 months now without any issues. It's worthwhile to do the remap, but perhaps later on in the piece as the standard map will cope with the 15% pulley. My car is a daily driver so sees alot of road time and I've not had a problem with the engine to date. I will be looking an a map later on, but this'll be last on the list as I don't intend to go beyond injectors and header as further mods.

If I do go with something else, what would you recommend? I'd be willing to spend some extra money to have see real power increases. Also, is your car a great deal faster with your pulley, intake and exhaust? It's a possibility that i could go that route.

It feels faster, but can't be sure until I take it out on the track and compare against my pre-pulley times.

I did the CAI first and it didn't necessarily feel a whole lot faster. It was more willing to accelerate. Then the intake added abit more noise to the experience. Not much gain there.

After doing the pulley, there wasn't a noticeable difference to be honest. There was a slight difference, but not like night and day. Only after a few more kms and sitting in a stock MCS to compare against, can I really feel the difference. I guess the best way to describe it, is that if I gun it, the power comes on a little bit more frantically than a stock MCS.

I think that the main thing to remember is that you have a computer that needs to know what you are doing to the car. Upgrades like pullies and stuff can alter things enough that the car doesn't run as well as it could. So, you do an ECU remap to tell this computer what has been done.

As a first mod the remap is really not needed. You can safely do a 15% pulley and a few other things without needing the ECU flash. Roland has even shown that the stock ECU can handle quite a bit.

Pulley will give you the most bang for your buck but be advised. If you are still under warranty, and you have engine issues, it is possible that repair costs could come out of your pocket as you will void your warranty.
