Rogue Engr. CAI + Magnecor Wires Installed

Hey guys,
Just installed the Rogue Engineering Cold Air Intake and Magnecor 8.5mm wires in my MCS. Wow! It feels smoother just driving around, better throttle response (smoother, quicker), and when you get on the gas, it feels like there's nothing stopping it. Felt a bit like it was choking for air before, but now, it's like I can't push the gas down hard enough to make it even a tiny bit short of breath. And the sound is amazing. Sounds smoother, with more of that wonderful supercharger whine on top of a throatier (it seems) exhaust. Shifting seems much smoother as well, don't know why that is (perhaps air?). Definately recommend both to all S owners.

Happy motoring!

Not sure if this is a concern to those who seek to get this installed, but is there a warranty issue?

Install was very easy and quick. Some holes were drilled slightly off on the heat sheild, but with a little "negotiation", it all went in and fit well. As long as you prep the filter beforehand, it's a 10 minute install. The plug wires are very easy, just right on top of everything and well marked. Smooth and painless.

No idea on warranty, but Magnusson-Moss protects us over here in the states. Unless the modification directly causes the malfunction, the warranty is not "voided" (as people love to say when talking about warranties) for that work. So if the transmission strips some gears after I do this, they have to cover it, because there's no way what I did could have caused that.

Dont be so sure about that.
I know, by law they cant void the warrenty, but they can deny you service. I had a wheel bearing failure in my last car and I also had suspension work done. Well, one dealer said to change the suspesion and they would do the work under warranty. I couldn't understand this concept so I went looking for another dealer. Well, I had to drive an hour and a half to find one that would do the work under warranty.
If you want to get into a lengthy court battle, you will probably win, however they might fight it all the way. Usually they figure you would rather pay to fix it(cheaper) then going to court.

Just some stuff I have learned from owning a Honda.
Hey maybe MINI/BMW will be better about it, but I think I will save my pennies and buy the Dinan stuff when its finished--Warranty is good...mkay

I've heard from realible sources that Dinan products will not be covered under warrenty from MINI/BMW - that said - Dinan usually has their own type of warrenties etc that they offer with their products - as long as you don't race your MINI(not sure if autox counts or not)

I fitted the magnacor wires last night - and the rogue cai should be here today - also working on hose wraps for the engine bay - the ones from mossmini.com - not actually replacing them - but they wrap around the existing ones - so it is purely cosmetic etc - but looks good. I'll get pics and a write up after i got it all finished.

Really
Well, the dealer I got my S from is an authorized Dinan dealer and my "source" says different. :fingers crossed that I am right: For the good of ALL MINI owners

I think the person is making an assumption then - as there isn't even dinan products yet - they have some in development - but it is research only - they have not yet even decided on what they will offer. So there is no way to see if it will even be under warrenty. Assuming your dealer is a Dinan dealer for BMW they prolly made the assumption that they same would be true for the MINI, but sources I've heard from MINIUSA say that it won't happen. BUT like i said before - Dinan warrenties tend to be some of the best for an aftermarket product. So you should be able to get the Dinan warrenty when/if the products come out.

not only can they not void your warranty they have to prove that the modifacation caused the damage. I have never had problems with wattanty work on my vehicles that are modified except from Jeep they are know to void warrantys if your engine compartment has too much dirt in it!

It's in. 5 minute install. Quick trip out to the freeway and have verified 2 1/2psi increase in boost (With a/c on no less) and definite increase in passing torque.
Love the sound! Can hear that Supercharger really winding up now!
