moving cooper battery for MCS CAI. Possible?

Not sure if anyone has thought of this or done it.

Is it possible to move the battery in the cooper to the boot (as in MCS) and utilise the space for a propper Cooper s cold air intake??

Is it one of those things that will take too much £££ and be a major hassle?

Any thoughts welcome.

Pete

You could put a battery in the back but to make it like a Cooper S you would need a boot floor also the battery cable etc etc it would be very costly.

You could mount the battery in the boot to one side but you would loose boot space it would be cheaper in parts and labour doing it this way.

There wouldn't be any horsepower gain but there might be some visual gain.

It would be a lot of work for negligible gain. The JCW Sound Kit has a CAI and fits in a regular Cooper engine compartment. You could check if the intake can be purchased without the entire kit.

Another option is a Race Battery to replace the 12volt. I know of a honda that had this done to facilitate the fitting of a front mount intercooler. It works just the same as the normal battery, if not more reliable, as it needs to be able to start a race car back up. Only down side would be if car is left sitting it would go flat sooner.
