Offline | #1 Cold Air Intake System Hello, I'm wanting to install a cold air intake system into my MINI S and was wondering what make/model would deliver the highest performance and sound. I know an intake system is not going to increase much but I want the best thats out there. Also my MINI is an automatic which I believe means there is an extra wire near where the intake system sits and may be more of a problem for fitting. I don't know much more than the average Joe when it comes to working on cars so would I be able to install something like this myself? Thanks |

Offline | I can answer this one! I have a 2006 MCSa, and I did my CAI last weekend. I bought the Mini Madness CAI, since it also had an open cowl option to help funnel colder air from the vents vs the engine compartment. Instructions were clean and easy to follow; taking my time, it took about 30 minutes. I noticed a difference right away; smoother gearing, and a nice growl from the supercharger. If you check my Gallery on NAM (motionmonk), you'll see some of the mods I've done. Good luck! Motionmonk I'm not speeding. I'm feeding my supercharger. |

| Lovin' every MINI of it! | I run a MINI-Madness myself and love it. However, to be totally honest, I don't think that any one is "better". Alta, Madness or any of the other vendors are pretty solid products so you really can 't go wrong with your choice. Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | Just installed the MINI-Madness CAI w/ cowl mod. Took me about 1hr. The instructions seemed to have 1 or 2 steps not well elaborated ![]() In all I would say It felt and sounded great! Thanks for the recommendation. |
