What exhaust for my Hartge MCS

I have a Hartge MCS with just a standard MCS exhaust, Looking to change exhaust for a better sounding one.

Any Suggestions would be very helpful

I have to agree with sef ....having tried various systems , my preference is with the Borla ,they seem to have the perfect combination, build quality, fit, adjustability for alignment, warranty, sound and resonance,
most importantly performance, I think they are one of the few companies who have looked at the tube /resonator and the impact of reflected pulses, gas speeds etc this must have been carried out over a period of time and the R&D has paid off , they work very well in a variety of engine configs, producing good torque-and thats why we use them in our kits over alternatives that are available and cheaper
they also do an exhaust for the one/cooper which works great too!!!-
One thing to watch out for in stainless exhaust systems is heat ,.....its great to get the heat quickly down the exhaust, this improves things ,however unless you are racing ,( in which case cost is no issue ) it causes very hot stainless steel at the rear silencers and it can cause cracking/cracks -this has to be factored in during design and build and Borla seem to have done a good job here-
there is more to an exhaust than the noise!!!

Hi,

Check out this thread....

Roland found the Miltek to be the best exhaust.....

Cheers

It a shame Rolands very valid back pressure testing was not done on the Borla,(there are only so many hours in a day!!) but I would say the Borla would as a minimum match the MIltek in back pressure ,both pipework and rear boxes well designed
The pipe joins are also well made and fit perfectly, and the clamps are by far the best around, being stainless , strong ,and wide . This set up allows adjustment of the exhaust in all directions and the fit is always perfect
With a million mile warranty that Borla Offer ,the quality of fit, finish and performance is hard to beat. miltek come a close second,IMHO ,but are slightly cheaper to buy over here due shipping costs
If you are after the "Best ", then a straight pipe system ,with few bends,a token silencer, in Titanium ,would offer very light weight ,ultimate performance for a premium price!! expect over £2000 , and would be prone to cracking and very loud ,but hey if youve got money burning a hole in your pocket ,and dont like your neighbours!!! give me a call

Thanks guys, think it may have to be the Miltek due to my financial position.

Sef do you know how much the borla are going for at the moment at 1320 autos?

Sef, just booked in for a borla agressive exhaust from 1320Autos, I know its a bit pricier than the Miltek, but i'm sure definately worth it.

Will put a post up in a couple of weeks and let you all know what I think
