MINI Motorsport manifold

Few questions i am hoping you great bunch cant help me with please..

Does anyone know what the performance advantages are when fitting this?

Is it the same manifold as the Cooper S motorsport manifold?

Will it fit to my play MINI exhaist?

How much louder is it, and whens that noise evident? its not too boomey and intrusive is it? as i had a manifold a year or so ago and it was too noisey around 2000rpm and noisey on motorways.

any help is much, much appreciated

I was going to start a thread for pretty much the same thing..

I have seen this which looks really good value for money and was wondering if anyone had fitted it and what were their opinions as it seems about £150 cheaper than other brands..

Excuse the hijack

Many thanks,
James

Q1. the old JCW site suggested 8-10bhp on a standard car.

Q2. Yes.

Q3. It replaces both the manifold/cat and centre section of a Works exhaust system. Whether it would fit yours depends on the pipe diameter and where the join is on your exhaust.

Q4. It gets significantly more noisy than a Works exhaust from 3500rpm at over half throttle (but in a good way...). It isn't intrusive below this, keeping motorways/ cruising civilised.

Could you tell me where you are getting this from please? I have been chasing one for ages. Also what is the cost? I emailed the mini motorsport dude a while ago who said he would advise me when they were in stock, wondering if it is the same place. I am here in the UK visiting for the next 4 weeks.

Hi,

This is the John Cooper motorsport manifold and cat plus intermediate pipe and will cost you in the region of £900 plus fitting.

motorsport Manifold

Hi, Babes from Australia,

The Mini Motorsport manifold is the John Cooper motorsport manifold which has been produced for the mini Challenge series.(Racing).
I believe there is also a Challenge series out there in Australia so these parts must be being
made in your neck of the woods as well.
My advise would be to drop a line to one of the company's that prepare the cars for the Australia mini challenge series.
Hope this is of some help
yours
Chris

John Cooper Manifold

Price

The RRP is as I said in the region of £900 . This is by far the largest part of the 225 upgrade.
Tony probably gets these at lower than the RRP due to them being part of the kit. But if supplied separately the cost to him may not be the same.
I have asked Tony myself and he quoted me £1000 including fitting. If I remember correctly these were on the John Cooper Web site for eight hundred and ninety something , hence my
£900

yours
Chris

In round figures £900 for the maninfold, Sports cat and longer sensor leads - I talked to Tony last night.
Fitting on 30th July, Dyno run booked for 1st August then we will know the power increase for a fact.

Hi Alan, what did your GP make powerwise pre-modding? Or is that the next thing to do.
Best Regards Roland GTT
We may have a secondhand JCW motorsport one available next month.(not definite though). They are a lot of money for a very mediocre manifold IMHO.
