The nice thing is that all the new Mini owners were consistant so any one of you could win a proper event in Sportsman ET 12.00 and slower.

You just have to work on acheiving consistant 0.0## lights

The nice thing is that the Mini doesnt have to be worked on between rounds so you just go and watch the rest of the racing Top Fuel Pro Mod etc etc.

I'm depressing myself even more, I forgot that you've got a stock clutch, there's defintley another gain there due to slip on gear changes compared to the exedy

I was told months ago by a BMW mechanic that my stock clutch was on its way out. Its probably my next job after BBK once my house has sold.

I was gutted to only be running 15.0 and 15.1s!

But then the car was pretty heavy from all the seats in and my big glass roof and the boot being full of tools and fluids etc

MITP should be good as I will have the car properly ready and see if I can break the 14s which it should do. Plus my stock IC was robbing me of power I think in the heat.

A better driver and tyres would help too

But I thought the Stick was driving?? On a serious not apart from the 15.9 you were really consistant which is what you need in most drag racing classes.

As I said earlier if you guys could start cutting some 0.0 lights Minis could be in the final at most proper meetings.

I might try and organise a friendly bracket race at MITP, you'll all have a better appreciation for the sport of drag racing espically bracket racing after that.

What mods have you Ant??

Most cars will pick up a 1/10th at the Pod just through being a better track.

need some seat time

Glad you guys had a blast.

Am very tempted to come and play at MITP - like the idea of dragging against some other S's, but ike Richard I fear my loaded S will be too heavy for the 220 horses to haul up the strip in under 15. Still I look forward to finding out.

S

ps can I run my track tyres or does it have to be street legal at MITP?

Weight is always a problem, we've added weight by adding all the interior back in and a 6 point roll cage, but I'm afraid you have to live with what you have.

A good rule of thumb is for every 100lb of weight is equal to 1/10th of a sec.

Bring whatever tyres you like, it always helps if they are road legal, it depends what classes they are going to run, I'll see if I can find out for you.

We'll have jack and tools there so you dont have to worry about bringing them.

I was disappointed they didn't put the Coopers in a class with the one's. Us cooper boys stand no chance against the supercharged guys, would be a more even match if they split NA/forced induction and might have encouraged more coopers to run the 1/4 mile

There should be at least an NA group and Forced Induction group for the modern MINI. I thik if they were seperate you might get more Coopers and Ones taking part.

Coopers and ones should also include the diesels.

Dropped the MITP guys an email earlier, asking about MINI classes, had a phone call from them, they advised that there would be one class but as they're new to it, so open to suggestions.

Talked to him about the problems with the classifications at showdown, and as Bhozar said, suggested a NA/Forced induction split, he's contacting Mini Mag and is going to get back to me.

So watch out Tom and don't sabotage my car!
