GTT intercooler rubbing on my ht leads

I've got my GTT intercooler on the car, but noticed its actuallly rubbing against the 2 HT lead leads, the actual back of the sockets of the HT leads that come off the ignition coil pack, can't believe thats right, but also can't see how i can move it forward any way. Any ideas

You need to go back to the person you bought it from /fitted it (our records show not from us), was it secondhand? as there is a special relocation plate we supply with the intercooler to move the coil backwards, sounds like you didnt get it.We also supply full fitting instructions if we sell the GTT intercooler kit DIY .

The plates are not normally sold seperatly, as they come with the intercooler. Your best bet is to go back to the person you bought it from,-theyve probably still got it.

Is they're honeslty no way you can sell one seperately, have spent enough cash through GTT

It moves the coil back 11mm, but we would have to get one made specially as we only have the correct number for the intercoolers we hold ......go for G mans offer

Why the dig?

You see Roland on here all the time, chatting to prospective, current and former customers.

Hardly his fault that the chap who sold the intercooler on didn't include all the bits, neither can you hardly fault his commercial decision to stock one plate per intercooler.

i did'nt say that ( although i have been thinking that) although a little surprised GTT not more forthcoming regardless of whether second hand or not, i am an exisiting GTT customer.

but i was told my warranty with GTT would be voided if i fitted a GRS or any other brand intercooler. Just so happened Neilobe had his for sale on here when i was looking, Neilobe was'nt to know the coil pack had been moved back as he did'nt fit it GTT did and theres not even mention of it on the website, so that why i assume he never sent me the plate.

I'm not trying to create a problem or asking for anything for free, just got a problem i have noticed that i need to sort. Thanks to G-man looks like i am sorted.

I really don't know where this came from. Roland was helping and even said that they don't stock that part as it is sold with another system.

Interesting question not answered here is why on earth a GRS intercooler would void the warranty on another tuning companies work? Its a non moving part that replaces the OEM part but has no major technical differences after all.

Any reasonable explanation why this should be so?

Thanks John Dihno As for Ant or Cheech read on:-
1) Why should I list every small component on our website thats included with every part?
There is no need ,probably confuses people and nobody else does.
2) I havnt sold this intercooler, somebody else has, and your trying to make it out somehow to be my fault that THEY havnt included everything! (ok they didnt know, but your transaction has nothing to do with us!)
3) Not even a thanks from Ant for explaining why hes got a problem, just a thread that wasnt necessary, just an email would get the answers required..
4) You buy & fit a GRS or Alta or whatever intercooler to an already modified MCS and their going to warranty your engine if it goes bang ? - I dont think so.
-You 2 guys are cheesing me off today.
GTT Warranty....Bear in mind we are not supplying /fitting/modding any internals in the engine. We ensure the car is running/fuelling/boosting etc correctly when it goes out. If you then change something we then have no control ,The parts of the GTT conversion and the labour is always covered , (if supplied & fitted by us) its this 'extra' warranty that 'could' become voided /part voided if fundamental changes are made afterwards.
I think that is very fair and certainly more than most would ever offer.

No probs Roland, Thankyou,, i do apologise for cheesing you off.

Although if you can show me where i have intimated you were to blame for me not having the plate, please do. I have also made it quite clear i am willing to pay, not looking for a handout, Reason i bought second hand was simple, would you turn down a 2 month old GTT intercooler and snoot boots for 300 quid.

As for Cheech, not associated with me, so i assume he has issues with you, to be honest nothing to do with me, and probably wound you up more than my posts ( which to date have'nt been libellous or making unfair demands). in fact my posts have been polite and information seeking. I did e-mail on this last week, but no reply, so always quicker to put a post up on here.

I'm just asking as it is Your product originaly, same as if my SONY TV had a problem i would speak to Sony , regardless of where i purchased from. So not unreasonable.. Plus i mention again, i am an existing customer, who has said nothing but praise for you and your company on posts on here and to others who have looked over my car. I have always worn my GTT badge on my car with Pride

I don't want to start getting into a slagging match over a Piece of metal, thats not my style.

However,

Very very enlightening thread for me, thanks Roland

Roland GTT

Agreed, the first port of call for a technical problem with a manufactrurers component must always be a closed conversation, such as phone or email, not something aired on an open forum. Roland is a most helpful chap that will answer your questions directly, accuratly and quickly.

As to the warranty question - hmm, not sure I agree with the cut and dried answer given. A reputable compay (which I know GTT is) I would think would analys any issue that appears later, and tell a customer why their warranty had been invalidated by the fitting of a GRS intercooler, not just say 'its no longer covered' if they fit someone elses intercooler. Saying its not warrantied full stop if you fit someone elses I/C to me sounds like 'use us or else' approach which is something I would personally be very surprised at, having dealt personally many times with Roland.

The other comment on this thread is completley uncalled for, and as such I regard them as the same old cr@p you get on the internet, people with no real knowledge or expreince in a subject just sticking their noses in without much regard for whats right. Its all too easy to sit at a pc and make comments you wouldnt dream of face to face.

Hi, yes I dont know who cheech is, I just checked all his posts,(only 12) I even help him with belt choice ; on his thread.!....theres gratitude
Sony is different to maintain warranty you must have repairs done through a Sony agent. If a non authorised repairer decided to fit a different brand of tube to your TV and it went bang no way would Sony entertain a warranty repair. No email in our inbox BTW.
Tony... bear in mind Im refering to warranty on parts that are not supplied/fitted by us (eg engine internals). If a problem were to occur to the engine due to our upgrade yes we would cover it. If it goes bang due to products being fitted later that are not fully compatible then its not so clear cut. Ultimatly what Im aiming to do is ensure no one gets a problem in the first place. (ie advising before the wrong choices are made) , .. Some items eg adding a Miltek cat back or JCW380cc injectors to a GTT conversion is perfectly fine (GTT approved if you like). Some brands/models of intercooler (Grahams is ok) could cause big detonation damage ...One design in particular is IMHO realy bad and could cause inlet temps to rise to a point that could cause big damage. (Ant...yes that one)
Anyway youve got a plate now thats good.

i do hope you are not referring to my comments TonyT3, if you read my last post, i did say i tried to email, and then i through it open to the experts on here. To which Roland replied. i did'nt do this as first port of call to wind him up or anything.

To be honest i am the one sitting here now getting extremely wound up over a small piece of metal and how this thread has been blown out of proportion.

Should have gone, simple question, simple answer followed by a simple transaction. What happens is somebody else does'nt relise just like Neilobe, and then sells their car and buys a new one, and leaves the plate on. Does that mean they are in the same position as me.
