| MINIBUG | Gtt 210 Questions I'm looking to get my 12,000 mile 05 "S" taken up to 210bhp 2 obvious choices are Lohen & GTT. Problem for me is that Lohen uses Alta parts which (from the photo's I've seen) have the "Alta" logo plastered all over them. I don't want the work to be visibly apparent to anyone looking under the bonnet (ie beemer mechanics) Not trying to hide it for insurance, as it's peanuts for me, but I've nearly a years warranty left and I may extend it too. Knowing that dealers look for any and all reasons to blame failures on something else, you can see my issue. Therefore, how visable is the GTT 210 package ? ![]() |

| MINIBUG | I drive 3000K-4500K rpm so am looking for increased power & torque in that area. The problem is that those damn modern diesels are so sodding quick on the move. People carriers, family saloons and even vans, they've got some real punch from 30-90 OK I know they are thrashing them, but if one of those pratts does the "you're not over-taking me" thing and accellerates hard, a standard "S" can get caught with it's pants down. |

Offline | You dont have to run the plate with the Alta logo on, in fact everyone we have fitted the customer has asked us to leave it off for the stealth look. We are just down the road from you near St Neots. WELCOME TO 1320autos.com Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02 IT'S NOT HOW MUCH YOU SPEND BUT HOW WELL YOU SPEND IT |

| MINI2 Master | mmmmm can and can't really. My previous car was a 190bhp Seat ibiza Tdi, it was quick and on the move there was'nt an alwful lot that could keep with it say from 50-80. It had 335 lb/ft torque. However the Cooper s is a different machine. I am quite happy with the torque of the mini especially with my spec. however you need to work it more to get the results. IE don't expect to just leave it in 6th like you would ina diesel and sail on past. I find dropping a gear or so is much better. |

Offline | Hi Button, GTT SC pulley is the only one that looks very OEM ,this is because its steel (painted black) and is an interference fit on the shaft the same as the OEM one, therefore it doesnt have a ring of bolts holding it on. You also get the 'equally stealthy' GTT Twin Bearing Idler Pulley and optimised bypass valve included . We include a cotton gauze panel filter with the GT210 which sits nicely hidden in the stock airbox and can be cleaned/re oiled. The 'Mini service checks 'we do as part of the GTT220 and up ..we can include with the GTT210 aswell. ![]() GTT conversions are the most popular & proven aftermarket conversion for the MCS in the UK , badge is optional ,-there are dozens of M2 regulars on this forum that have our conversions.....and can comment on their findings. Best Regards Roland GTT ![]() |

Offline | You're so right and its something I keep saying I'm going to have to do, you're the 2nd person to bring this point up. We'll fit anything you want, we advise customers of combos what we know work but if a customer wants to go with another part from another company for whatever reason we will still fit it. We will have some Alta pullies which are arriving this week for stock. ![]() Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02 IT'S NOT HOW MUCH YOU SPEND BUT HOW WELL YOU SPEND IT |

| MINIBUG | And what would you recommend for modest power increase vs minimal tampering? I'm in your area alot as I use Bedford, MK, St Neots & Huntingdon alot. 15% pully, new belt, filter & irridium plugs seems to be the common approach. Would a remap be necessary or would these changes be OK with standard ECU ? |

Offline | If there's a problem and warranty is involved, don't you think they'll start looking closer at things? A reduction supercharger pulley is not undetectable even though "its steel (painted black) and is an interference fit on the shaft". |

| MINIBUG | If there's a problem / warranty item it'll be comming off first ! I'm basically thinking Iridium plugs, better Air Filter, 15% pully & Belt. Most likeyl reason to be in for repair is a snapped belt so I think I'll definately want one of those little £20 "protector" things to prevent it monkeying up the workings. |

| MINIBUG | I just went and had a look under the bonnet and, as expected for 12K, the belt is perfect and there's miles of that hole showing so there's little to no stretch in the belt either. Big question is though, how on earth do you work on that to change the pully ![]() Do you guys at GTT / lohen / 1320 use trained rats or something, there's so little space in there ! What's involved in changing the belt and how long does it take to do and fit a "protector" style pulley stop. It looks like you'd have to unbolt half the engine to get at it ! ![]() |

Offline | a 15 % pulley with the std air filter is nice, BRM Cooper had very good results adding a JCW 4-2-1 ex manifold which shouldn't void your warranty, but maybe it would be worth the wait for your warranty to run out as the price difference between that and a Janspeed manifold is quite a bit. A GRS IC would be a good choice as you can change back to std very quickly which we would be quite happy to show you how to do. We like Roland favour the std map once checked. | MINIBUG | I'm seriously considering getting you to fit a 15% pully but would a shorter belt be advisable? Plus what about Iridium plus to avoid the dreaded detonation !? Really think I'd like the "protector" bar too. What sort of HP gains would a 170 "S" expect from just the pully (std filter) and with reference to my previous post.... What has to be done and how long will it take. |
