Looking at Bhozar results again, at the Pod he made 190bhp and using the same formula for Bristish Mini Showdown at Shakey he made 214bhp, a difference of 24bhp

Split the bottom engine mount in half, which with hard acceleration an chassis tramp caused the passenger side driveshaft to pop out, an stripped the bearings off the end of the shaft which goes into the cup that attaches to the gearbox. This in tern also split one of the rear exhaust brackets so its now hanging down at a wonky angle, too be fixed tomorrow night.

Once again big thanks to Paul for the bits to get me home an Tom for repairing an labour, as i said on the phone it was very much appreciated!!!!!!

Yeah, I calculated the same. I may have been a bit heavier at the Showdown. I still had extinguisher, jack, compresor etc in the boot.

So either something is wrong with the car, or there is a difference in tracks. To me it does look like Santa Pod is uphill a bit. Seems like everyone was getting slower results than Shakespere. I will find out when I run again at the end of next month at Shakespere.

i was down comaped to shakey as well! remember santa pod has a head wind and it runs up hill!

Hi guys!

Firstly a big thank you to 1320 for a quality afternoon at the strip. Secondly, great to meet the other Mini owners for a bit of banter... I can't believe I made 173 BHP on Loui! That manifold really does the job

Loui, bad luck mate, it'll happen to all of us at some stage but it was good to see everyone rally round (esp 1320) to sort the problem.

Now i've popped my drag strip cherry I can't wait for the next event.

There was another completly stock Mini S (a later model) on the track, the blue one with the blonde driving ( the Essex boys will remember

) who in the hands of her male mate was running low 17's with a top speed quite a bit lower than mine, so it just goes to show what a few additions can do if done right.

I presume the gearing will help too on the newer cars? I was crossing the line on the limiter in 3rd!

Congrats to the Essex mob on winning the coin and great to meet all you Mini owners!
