Clutch Bushes??

Took my car to bmw this morning to have a technician look at my creaky clutch. It would make a groan/creak while pressing down and lifting off the clutch. After an hour or so he said it was probably the clutch select bushes . They'd have to take the gearbox out to replace some parts, which they are doing Friday under warranty I was slightly concerned by him while he tried to find reverse next to 6th

Does that sound about right or has anyone else had similar problems?

I have a brand new clutch, my pedal squeaks and creaks. My guess is that the technicians have no idea what the problem is.

Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing...

It's a bit more then a squeak, i'll record a soundclip later. I showed it to Roland when I went to collect my gear knob (very nice it is too!) he said he'd never heard one do that before

Clutch bushes are notorious. Ive had problems in two out of 3 mini's. And its hard to cure. Simple answer would have been bearings at design stage, but no cheap bushings for us all. Mine got so bad the pedal actually didnt come out with my foot, it delayed. Which wasnt fun. Wet weather also seemed to cure it and then when it dried in summer it came back. One thing to thank this rubbish summer for, no creaky clutch.
