ROFL! Yeah, seems to be the norm for them not to bother with a remap (mine didn't).

I run a similar self made kit and no map change. Plugs look good and no signs of pinking or strange yoyos etc etc. I know a chap with the GTT260 and no map!

I have an otherwise standard car at the moment, but will i need a remap when i put a 15% pulley, exhaust manifold, plugs and air filter on it?

Alex

Nope almost defo not. And a remap will probably not gain you much ewither if you did. Most cars will run huge pulleys and other parts with no map and not lean out. Some might and therefore require a map...but you will tell immediatly if that the case.

Depends on the car... I personally recommend it, but there are plenty of cars out there running without it. Some cars tend to run rich without a remap and in my case I was. The remap solved this and gave me a few additional ponies.

Isn't running rich a lot safer than running lean?

Would a re-map sort out the little flat spots etc throughout the power range?

I'm not interested in raising the red-line limit or gaining more power from it - just to get rid of the annoying little niggles that the car has!

Both are bad if it is too far one way or another. Sure, a little rich is ok but I was smelling fuel when I got out of the car. Not good....

It did on mine. MTH really sorted the rough bits and now my MINI pulls strong in every gear.

Hmm my car always smells of fuel, like from the moment I start it up to stopping there's always quite a strong petrol smell... sometimes even inside the car (especially when stopped at traffic lights for example)

Just bought a Mini Cooper S !!
