GTT Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator -TESTING .

Hi Guys, just spent along time testing our new AFPR today...John was sick in the GP (just kidding!) and Im still high from the fuel vapour...That fuel rail came off a total of 15 times. You can adjust pressure without removing it but we wanted to monitor the spring preload in the AFPR at the same time..
The 2 things we wanted to establish were (a) What range of pressure adjustment is available, &
(b) what effect on Air Fuel Ratio 'x amount' of change in fuel pressure achieves.
With the softer spring and no spacer the adjustment range is approx 2 bar right upto 3.5 Bar (which is stock rail pressure with vacuum pipe disconnected). With spacer ifitted, min pressure is 2.9 Bar upto 4 Bar. One thing we found is max rail pressure 4.7Bar. Therefore at more than 1.2 Bar boost (18psi), fuel pressure cannot increase to maintain 3.5 Bar above manifold pressure.
For higher boost idealy you should reduce fuel pressure and use larger injectors at the same time. Eg on this car we settled for 2.75 Bar fuel pressure and 450cc Injectors . (This is a GP not a GTT300 Turbo).
Regarding the effect on Lambda we tested up and down the road dozens of times monitoring Wide Band Air Fuel Ratio and fuel pressure ,adjusting this accordingly.
Around 0.5 Bar 'change' in fuel pressure alters AF ratio by around 0.5-0.8........certainly significant!
Another test we did was check 2 stock regs variation was 0.1 Bar (1.5 psi)
All in all the GTT AFPR does everything I'd hoped for..We have added notches to the outside of the body now, this allows adjustment by removing only the intercooler...simply rotate the body using a screwdriver to push it round on the notches...works well.
All good Fun..Best Regards Roland GTT
