Cooper S exhaust on Cooper?

Right I dont specifically want the Cooper S exhaust but id like to jazz up the rear end of my Cooper alittle and was thinking of putting a central twin/letterbox exhaust on there. Is it possible? Does anyone know of any back boxes or new exhaust I can put on? I dont want it to sound loud or anything. + would I just need to put the bottom skirt from a Cooper S onto the bottom of my rear bumper?

Hope all this makes sense?

Thanks for any help.

James

why put a Cooper S exhaust on a cooper ,any one will know that its not a S.
Save up and get a aftermarket exhaust like (playmini , magnex ,miltek) it will fit proper and give you that deep grunt, you will love it, I did on my old cooper and then on my cooper S .

I had magnex on my cooper and then playmini on my old S.

I am not trying to make my Cooper look like an S, i just like the look of the exhaust & would like to do something like that to the rear of my mini. The only reason I mention the S exhaust is because it will probably be the cheapest route to get the look im after and as mentioned I dont really want the grunt of a aftermarket exhaust.

Thanks for the reply though I will look into those options.

I am using Bastuck exhaust for my Cooper. It features a twin outlet in the middle, just like the Cooper S. and it comes with the plastic rear valence as well. It sounded a bit louder and deeper, but not noisy.

So then what exactly is envolved to make the Cooper S exhaust fit my Cooper. Looking around there are quite a few exhausts available so not a problem getting my hands on one just need to know whether its going to be an easy fit?

It's very possilbe I got it done on my old ONE

Only advice I would give is because the standard s exhaust is quite heavy I'd invest in the Lohen GTT Re-Route pipe, it'll take away one of the backboxs and make the exhaust much easier to fit

Lohen do a re-route pipe for around £90 I think

Sorry no pics of the underneath of the car.

But it does look and sound excellent with an induction kit and bluefin remap

Look at the GTT website for a picture of the reroute pipe. The Cooper S has 2 silencers at the rear and the rerout pipe cuts out one of these ( the driver side I think). £90 approx. There was an issue of Modern Mini Magazine a few months ago that showed how to replace an exhaust on a Cooper, see if you can get hold of a back issue.

Have you tried powerflow? They make the exhaust for you while you wait, they bend he pipes themselves so you can have a centre exit with whichever tailpipe design you want. They have at least 50 different tailpipe designs and can let you listen to your exhaust and you can choose how loud or quiet you want it.
