However, after a couple of weeks, we have decided it is quiet and not really quick. so far i have now fitted

Offline | on the ONE/Cooper the bluefin is the same no matter which year your car is. Basically the bluefin is a DIY remap. Just plug into the OBD port under steering wheels and click the buttons as per instruction and wham bam thanyou mam you have around 125bhp Don't bother getting newer versions of bmw maps for ONE/Cooper as its hard to get genuine ones and the power stays about the same. |

Offline | Cool for the info. Its just there is an OEM for sale in Ebay for around £50 he wants. BMW Mini One superchips bluefin remapped ECU Item number: 190147267723 Not sure if the mileage is effected also, as it is 2 years newer than mine. Might just stick with Bluefin |

Offline | In theory IF .... and that is a big IF... the ECU has got a bluefin remap on it still then it would go on your car. Certainly on my other ECU run cars I switched ECUs without significant issue. I am assuming that MINI ones are no different. However you have no way of telling if it is actually a remapped ECU, plus if it fails for some reason, or a dealer reflashes it with a stock map due to a fault or them being arses/helpful you have spend £x for no reason and have no- way of getting the bluefin back on. I would steer clear of something like this ... sometimes cheap is cheap for a reason. Personally I'd save the pennies and buy the real thing and when you send it to BMW get the map back onto the handheld device and then you can re-install it in the knowledge BMW won't accidently loose the map. |
