Modded MCS - affects residuals / economy?

Hi all,

Has any one on this forum tried to sell a modded Cooper S? If so, how did you find the tuning affected the residuals? I know that a JCW MCS will fetch at least a £1-2k premium, but how do other tuned MCSs fare - like GTTs, Lohens etc? Are they more difficult to sell because people fear they've been ragged and they don't want the higher insurance premiums?

The other question I've got is how do guys with packs like the GTT210 / 220 find their fuel economy has changed since the conversion? Does the extra power mean you really guzzle through that much more fuel?

And another question! Do MINI dealers get sniffy about honouring the TLC if you've had your engine tuned?

Now my car's 3 years old I don't have the warranty to worry about - just making sure I've thought through all the possible implications before getting too excited about talking to Roland!

Cheers

Fuel I get anything from 9mpg to 42mpg depending on how it gets driven.

TLC never had any problems

Selling on - well all depends on the market your trying to sell it too..

Has anyone else tried to sell a modded MCS or spoken to anyone in the trade about it? My concern is that it might make it more difficult to sell but has anyone had this experience?

Cheers

My average economy is 35mpg, that includes some motorway but mostyl A road taking it steady and ragging so its pretty good really.

MINI are also replacing my clutch and flywheel under extended (cherished) warranty for free, they didn't even mention the GTT210, GRS I/C or Miltek C/B when they did their inspection.

If i was to sell my car id completely strip it to standard, sell the parts on seperatly. You will get a better and quicker sale or atleast thats my thoughts are!

My fuel consumption is pretty poor TBH but im not sure on what the MPG is.

Depends who your selling to, my dealer give me a quote then took 600quid off for 4 new runflats, and 900 to change the coilovers back.

It seems selling as a trade it it pays to put car back to standard and sell mods 2nd hand. Mods other than JCW will not increase value unless your lucky.
