New Supercharger

Hi all,

I put a deposit on a MCS last night. When looking through the service invoices I noticed that the car had a superchager replaced by Mini Oxford in Feb of this year. Is this a common fault? The chap who own's the car said Mini paid 2/3rds of the parts and labour.

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I go and collect it tonight.

Thanks

Mat

Not common at all but it is a spinning part with bearings that could go bad so it is possible for one to fail. I wouldn't put much thought into it.

At what mileage was the supercharger replaced?

Any other work done at the time?

Looks like it went in for a noise from the lower part of the engine, they investigated and found it was the bearings in the Supercharger, so subsequently replaced the supercharger.

I was a bit concerned when I forst saw it but thought if BMW have done it then it should all be warranted etc anyway.

Thanks for replays so far.

Forgot to mention it was replaced at about 44,000 miles.

Thanks
