I've got the Alta CAI V2 with the box open to the rear and no lid. The foam filter is getting a bit manky and I'm wondering what the benefits will be to boxing it back up using an alta lid but keeping the rear open still.

Not that I'm bothered about a bit of grime, but wondered (as you do) if there is any benefit to fitting the lid?? Otherwise why sell one for it?

If there are buyers, sellers will keep on producing **** for no rhyme or reason!

I wouldn't bother personally; just clean the filter every 9-12 months and enjoy the whine

LOL... very true... and yes I am one of those muppets that gets attracted to anything shiny and new... but I did think the same, as in, whats the point?

However, I was chatting to BRM Cooper at MITP and he has the lid on his and was telling me that with the lid and back off you get negative pressure as the air inlet by the windscreen is pulling air out of the box leaving the filter fighting to pull it in... at least that's what I think he said (correct me if I'm wrong BRM).

Thoughts??
