Offline | Uhhhh, why not trade your car in for an S? You'll get the supercharger, plus the rest of the car is designed to handle the increased output (six-speed transmission, Sport Suspension Plus, etc). Chip H. ex-MINI Cooper S owner and all around good-guy |

Offline | Not to mention the forged pistons and rods, the oil spray on the bottom of the pistons, forged crank.......plus a few other items. Trade the old one in.....it is much easier....really. Motor on, Dudes and Dudettes!!! '06 MCS SB/S '02 MCS DS/W (retired) |

Offline | Thank you for reminding me, Bilbo... Bobcruchett - The other thing is, if you add a supercharger, you'll need to lower the compression ratio (thicker head gasket, new connecting rods, etc) to prevent engine-damaging knock. As soon as you open up the engine to do any of this, your warranty is void (installing the supercharger itself will probably void the warranty )Right now, you probably won't lose much money on selling your Cooper (just put it on eBay with a reserve price a couple of hundred below what you paid .. it'll sell). And place your order for an S with one of the more obscure MINI dealerships (Charleston SC, for example) so you won't be waiting eight months. Chip H. ex-MINI Cooper S owner and all around good-guy |

Offline | Oh come not the S model doesnt have a SuperCharger Its a Kompressor. The makers get a bit upset if you call it a Supercharger.. I know I know its a tomato .. Tomato kind of thing. But hey if it keeps me in there good graces then maybe just maybe there let me have some of there R&D goodies before anyone else (Yeah right like thats going to happen) 02 MCS DS/W (Totaled November 02 on Fall Folage Run) 03 MCS DS/W (See my MINI Profie for extensive list of mods) |

Offline | Come on! It is certainly a "Supercharger". E.g. look at the manufacturer's homepage www.eaton.com |

Offline | No they don't, every BMW, oops, I mean, MINI press release or event I've attended they call it a SuperCharger. Daimler call theirs Kompressor, so I guess that means BMW wont! ![]() |
