I did a few 3rd gear runs today with a stopwatch and averaged around 6.1/6.2 seconds, I think it could get better times with more accurate timing and flat roads. The sluggish pickup is overwhelming tho as 30 is just below the power band

2nd gear 30-70 however was amazing, it did a 3.9, 4, 4.1 but the wet roads meant some slippage

What year is your car and what mods? That 2nd gear time is mental fast, it beats Pauls time of 4.5 which we thought was quick!

Hello! Your official 3rd gear time was 5.9 but I reckon on a perfectly flat piece of road you'd get that down a bit. Congrats on the power run and on the mental rpm rev limit .

Nice one. I need to get my graph up on here but my digital camera cant get a clear picture of the numbers and the graph lines.
Hit some big traffic on the way back, took me 4 hours to get home
Had a good day though

Did I forget to say that 5.2 is with a stock dirty s filter and S exhaust sytem

If I had Luca ecu my 2nd gear time would be quick, you dont know how luckey you are Luca I've been waiting for my rpm limit to be moved up to that region all year

Its an 02 with recon gearbox. 15%, MTH on V-Power Tune, Alta CAI, Janspeed Mani with 120CPSI cat, milltek cat back, It did 226bhp @ 1320s with dodgy piston rings and oil detonation, since then its been fixed and is pulling even harder.

Please bare in mind this is with a stopwatch and ultimatley has human error so take with a pintch of salt until real times can be taken

Paul, can't you take a look at at Luca's map and fudge it into your car? Or ask Blue fin to give you a stock map with a raised rev limit?

Btw, well done on the 5.2, may need a wee bit more boost to beat that bad boy! lol

And Steve was a legend, leak all fixed, thanks for putting me onto him.

The Bluefin is clever enough to recognise the chassis number, we'll be able to tune the ecu shortly

You'll be hard press to find a nicer bloke than Steve, I sometimes forget what a legend he is as well, cant be to many racers had a toy company made a limited edition of his old 9 sec street car

FORD CORTINA MK I. JOHN WOOLFE RACING | levné,koupit, prodej

I'll have alook at his data logger and see what his 30-70 is next time I'm round there, I know his 0-172 is in 7.82 as long as he doesnt scrape the wall

Finally managed to try this out.

Mini Cooper S ‘05 + John Cooper Works (JCW) 210hp Package +other modifications
- Mini Madness JCW intake filter kit (+flap mod)
- JCW catback flat section removal
- GTT Exhaust Manifold
- GTT +3% Overdrive Crank shaft pulley
- GTT Modified bypass valve
- GTT Intercooler + Snoot boots
- Custom ECU tune

=> Avg of best test pairs: 6.6s (measured with G-Tech using the speed chart feature).

So the results are well in line with the the disappointing dyno results that both Aberdeen Al (here) and I (here) posted earlier.

I also tested 50-75 on 4th as these are figures quoted by BMW. I got 5.4s (4.2s on 3rd). BMW quotes 5.5s for R56 MCS.

Other than that, this is an interesting thread, shouldn't it be sticky?

My custom ECU tune was done by a local shop here in Warsaw, Kreator Mocy (hope your Polish is better than mine). They are clearly not a MINI specialist, there is simply no market here for such an offering. But they have done various quite interesting custom projects, including this.

As stated in the other thread, I was quite pleased with the deltas achieved with the tune. But the initial pre-tune dyno results (194hp/222Nm @ crank ) suggest that there is something else slowing down the buggy.

Sam, dont forget to try and work out what max speed you can record on the G-tech in 3rdbefore hitting the rpm limiter, say its 90, you can then see if you make any gains in horsepower at the top end as well.

Yup, that exactly. Close to a mile long and as wide as a highway.
