Most of our testing has been done with a teflon coated blower, which was ok when there was loads for sell on ebay but now with a shortage about we must do some testing with an old type grey coated supercharger.

We dont like quoting power figures unless we can back it up at the drag strip, so we'll be testing loads of different parts and testing the best combo with an old type blower.

I can live up to my promise of coming this time thanks to finding my licence. It came through the letter box today from DVLA via Oxfordshire Constabulary... and the Oxford Conts had been kind enough to add an SP30 to it! And by the way, the new licence format is uber gay, no british flag on it anymore just a Euro one

I might be able to make the 4th November, just depends on my car, got it booked in at the dealers as a funny knocking noise appeared after my runs at the BMW show. May have broken something

Update:

Was under the bonnet yesterday after cleaning my car and found out what my knocking noise was!!

Drivers side engine mount, I can push it up and down very easily!! Only booked in at the dealers for a week tomorrow.

What are the chances of the engine mount breaking again at Santa Pod?

What have people done to strengthen their mounts?

Regards

James

Seems like the engine mount is becoming a problem for the drag racers.

The later engine mounts are even a problem on the street why they changed the original design is beyond me

Paul. how many engine mounts have you now broken? Have they all broken in the same way Loui's did? Is it mostly the newer engine mounts that are breaking on the drag strip?

I haven't broken a mount but mine is the early mounting, it seems people are having problems with the later one, I'm not sure if Fireball Brian has had a problem with his and that is putting some power out.

Oh yeah, yours was the drive shafts. Sorry about that. I'm glad I have the early engine mounts too. Odd that BMW changed to the later ones that have issues. Seems like an opening on the market to develop a decent replacement mount, not just a band aid fix like an engine steady. (Like I also have on mine)
