Hi-Octane fuel

Hi,
Got an '05 MCS JCW 210bhp and have been recently filling up with higher more expensive octane fuel such as Shell V-Power and Texaco's higher Octane fuel. Is it worth my while to continue doing so as I can't say i've noticed any increase in performance, I know it is better for the engine and can give better fuel economy but no real benefits that i've noticed so far. Worth it or not???

If you read the JCW certifiacate it recomends using 97+ octane fuel, the reason for this is to protect again detonation.

Yeah I knew that having a higher octane fuel prevented against detonation but didn't realise it said that on the certificate, will probably just keep filling with that then but wondered if there were any other advantages??

The better fuel contains detergents to help keep your engine clean also

Tesco 99 and Shell V-Power are widely regarded as being the two best fuels on the market
