Question Cooper Modification

Hi people,
I am kinda new to all this car modification thing. But with the Cooper, I just cannot help but wonder what more I can get. I don't know how I should go about modifying the performance. I hear talk about K&N filters, air intakes, chips, and exhausts. Quite frankly, I'M LOST!! Can someone tell me what I should do? I would like to get more horsepower but do not want to void my warranty. What will each modification give me in terms of increased horse power, and what parts would you recommend based on your experience? thanks

Well, if you're not too fussed about warranty...

One simple way to starting with performance would be improving the flow of air through the engine, be it with an induction kit (pipercross, k&n or John Cooper Works... should have more companies in the states which I don't know about). Coupled with an aftermarket exhaust and a superchip (www.superchip.com), you should see yourself some more power under the hood.

Also look into getting aftermarket suspension such as spax coilovers. These are height and dampening adjustable. This would improve road handling. Another helpful purchase would be lighter alloy wheels and wider tyres...

Once you start dabbling, you soon pick up the basics

the superchip is undetectable, and the pipercross induction kit can be removed and replaced with the factory original in less than five minutes, need I say more!
