Supercharged Cooper S with a Dump Valve vid!!!

If you cant fit a dump valve/Blow off valve to a supercharged cooper S, how come this one has one???? Its not an R56 S, if you look at his video part 2, you can see its an R53!! And also for 250ps, doesnt seem that quick??!?! Is it maybe twincharged n thats why its dumping???!

Technically its possible, bit it would be just like having a boost leak i think.

Twin Charge maybe??

Ummm how can you fit a dump valve to a supercharged car? other than a fake one ofcourse! In my mind there is no excess boost to release as the SC is after the throttle body.

On 2nd look, that is definitely twin charged. Listen to the turbo spooling up in the first few seconds of him pulling away. And hence why the supercharger doesnt sound that loud (cos on the twincharge kit i believe you fit an enlarged pulley as opposed to a reduced one so the supercharger aint gettin stressed out)

on a twincharged engine you would want a dump valve on there (post turbo pre throttle body). it will help the turn spool (well actually stop it form stalling).

most twincharged guys run stock pullies. if you where to spin the stock supercharger slower i dont think htere would be much point in keeping it on there. lol

Ive got to agree with you on that statement. Ive seen vids from the states with ALTA twin charge kits that wheel spin in 3rd in the dry !!! so this cant be twin charged.

Like most say theres prob a boost leak. There is a mechanical boost control valve under the RH intercooler horn but ive never heard this make a noise that loud.

Whooo knows what the sound could be......

While Alta does make the over sized pulley, it's really of no use... even with the stock pulley eventually the SC is in the way of the turbo, and if the SC was going any slower it wouldn't be able to take in the Turbo air fast enough. Most who have tried the over sized pulley have gone back to stock...

I have also tried under driving the SC... while good it didn't allot the turbo as much boost... and there for you loose power... but was very linear compared to the stock pulley which drives more like a turbo car...

Ahhhhh the POLO G40....I had one of those, stage 4`d from Jabba

Now the Dump valve on those came off the outlet of the G-Lader charger, but I remembered the lads at Jabba doing some checking , and it wasnt really worth the hassle and time of welding the thing on. I cant see the point of dumping to atmosphere with a charger if it makes no difference but a noise ??? PPPSSSSSSTTTTT ???

was the throttle body after the 'charger???? thats the only way that you could see boost on a closed throttle. this is a BAD way to design a supercharger system as the losses are much bigger!
