Going on a RR? ....read this

Hi Guys, with all the RR discussions going on, I found this website feature which points out many of the problems and reasons for very variable RR results. An interesting point raised is that the drivetrain losses (including tyre losses to the rollers) will be different on one type of RR to another. (read on as to why). Theres also much other food for thought/discussion.
Take your time to read this guys. Its nice easy reading and certainly makes sense to me its streetperformance.ie/index.aspx?page=misc&id=8
Best Regards Roland GTT

Andy makes a few good points espically regarding the vehicles he specialises in. To see his car run at the Pod is a sight to be seen.

What all Mini owners should ask when booking a rolling road is;

"Can you record my boost pressure, Ignition timing, Intake air temps, lamba sensor 2 readings"

"How does your Intake air temps recordings compare to your road conditions recordings"

If you do have a fault on the day do they carry the correct stock, to get you back to what horsepower you should be making.

After reading that write up, ill avoid RR and keep to gut feel when assesing if mods have made an increase in fun factor. gut feel + fun = MINI driving
