Offline | Performance Manifold or Larger Intercooler ? Gents, I have a budget of around £600 to spend on my car….. It already has a BBR 220 conversion on it which uses a 19% reduction pulley together with a Milltek Cat back exhaust. What would you suggest the car would benefit from most next….. 1) Performance Exhaust Manifold ( Milltek or Janspeed { GTT one is to loud with the Milltek cat back ) 2) A larger intercooler ( GTT or GRS ) 3) Something else ? Larger injectors ect ??? Personally I think the intercooler……. Do you agree? I do not track my car and it is used as a daily driver. Many thanks Perm ![]() |

Offline | If the GTT is too loud, then the Janspeed will probably be too loud too, as its a very similar design. Get yourself an intercooler if you are worried about noise. Besides, with a 19% pully, you could really do with the IC. |

| MINI2 Master | at this time of year, i would go manifold. But i would be wise. First check ebay, with that budget you could have both. For the downpipe i would stick with the Milltek as it is a nice combo and designed and tested witht eh cat back. There have been a few on ebay roughly 230. however you can get them brand new for #450 is you shop around enough. As for intercooler, again source from ebay, it will save you loads, i paid 200 quid for my GRS and its like new. |

Offline | Daily Driver.. Go for the JanSpeed manifold. It wil smooth the power delivery and make your car very nice to drive in town. The Exhaust with the manifold only gives up its full choir over 3000 rpm when you plant your foot to the floor. Otherwise my Millteck/JanSpeed is not much louder than stock. ( unless I want it to be! ) |

Offline | Intercooler as the stock is killed by even a 15% pulley (I know as I was running one). If your on 19% you defo need to have a IC as the heat on your inlet must be huge as mine was baking hot all the time even in coller winter months on the 15%. GTT and Janspeed to milltek are about the same noise IMO having followed both for many miles. I have the milly mani and a milly exhaustand thats just as loud....very head turning. I'd advice a decent GRS or GTT IC. I run a GP IC at the moment and its very effective, but I am only on 15% at the moment with soon to have 3% crank... so only 18% even then. With your 19 you will need something better than the GP one IMO. |

| MINI2 Regular | BBR use a 19% pulley on their 220? How is it GTT manage 220 with a 17%? I don't have a performance mani or a larger IC, but a bit of research tells me you really should get yourself a better IC given your 19% pulley. By the way, anyone have problems getting performance manis and sport cats through the MOT? Do they significantly increase noise (if so in a good way or a bad way?!) Do they cause problems with emissions regs? |

Offline | I had no problems getting my through the MOT last year with my GTT manifold and JCW exhaust. IT was even louder at the time as a gasket was blowing on the exhaust. |

![]() Obsessive Car Cleaner OCC | Thats a DFIC and its a mates GP he's a member on hear, he had it in the Classifieds but he kept on getting messed about i think after numerous offers so its on ebay now! If you wernt worried about noise id say maybe go for the manifold as the temperature this time of the year will definately help the standard intercooler but as you are then i guess the only option left is the IC, Ant has the idea about ebay ![]() and its what i did, i picked up a Janspeed Manifold with high flow cat from the guy whos selling the DFIC above for £200, and a brand new GTT IC with Snoot boots for £308 delivered from ebay! So its doable for both if you search and wait a few weeks maybe! |

Offline | We have the GRS in stock at £396 or £337.02 plus vat. GRS won the Focus St IC shootout in Performance Ford magazine recently even though it was the smallest of the aftermarket ones tested. Knowledge is Power ![]() Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02 It's not how much you spend but how well you spend it |

| MINI2 Senior | I'm happy with it for just now I had the JCW exhaust coupled to the OEM manifold not much gain tbh but it sounded better. I then fitted the GTT manifold.........the car wa transformed - better revving and far more pops & burbles . The CAT is just what's fitted to the GTT manifold.Vroooom Vroooom |
