Does the extra noise of a CAI annoy you after a while?

Hi,

I know that one of the reasons to install a aftermarket CAI is the increased supercharger whine noise….. and maybe a few extra HP. However has anyone ever got tired of hearing the extra noise….. I can imagine this being great fun for the first few months but does the extra noise begin to annoy once the novelty factor has worn off ?

I was thinking that maybe the JCW CAI may be the best option….. normal noise levels below 4500 RPM and then it opens up when you are having some fun.

I use my car as a daily driver ( A roads and motorways ).

Thanks

Perm

I have normal noise under 3000rpm. 26k miles in the last 15 months with a GTT CAI, and I still love the noise. I guess its not for everyone though. I find my GTT manifold helps distract from the CAI at times

The alta (with the scuttle panel removed) is pretty noisy. It does get a little bit irritating when on part throttle a lot on motorway. It twitters and whittles a bit when your just fractionally moving the throttle on the M-way in 6th at almost the same speed. However this virtually non existant if you switch to cruise control. On the normal road it never gets boring/annoying. My car does 20-30k a year and is my daily driver for over 40 miles round trip just for work commute...then add fun time

Hell No!

I fixed my JCW flap permanently open, love that sound. Going to go down the GTT route for more noise at some point.
