Mods with Warranty Direct

I have just taken out a Warranty Direct policy on my 03 R50 MC and i want to fit a K&N 57i air filter to it

Has anyone had problems when claiming with Warranty Direct if they have had mods on their MINI?

I had a K&N 57i on my Cooper and never had any trouble with my MINI dealer. There's no real HP gain - just noise - so no extra stresses on any engine part. Maybe you should just check with Warranty Direct

i would check with warranty direct, my personal thoughts are they will probably not like it though, so best check before you do it.

Was only after the extra noise

Performance will be with the MCS when i have saved up enough

Will check with Warranty Direct to be on the safe side - will want them to pay out when my gearbox goes!!

I told them BEFORE taking out the policy that I was modding the car over the period of it's ownership and that I had already done the supercharger pulley.

Although the pulley is not covered if any insured parts are damaged by an uninsured part they will pay out. If for example the pulley failed and ruined the supercharger then they would replace the supercharger, pay for labour just not the 50 or so quid for the alta pulley.

This is on my policy documents.

Me too; if you explain when you take out the policy they will adjust and cover.
