Using high octane fuel too?? Suprised you are getting it on a 15% pulley.....

Im hoping that with the bigger intercooler, it will keep things cooler, and therfore no knocking. On the GRS chargecooler , where does the front mount radiator sit?

I have run an alta intake, milly manifold, milly exhaust, 15% pulley and colder plugs for 25k with no problems other than my stock IC got too hot for my liking on the strip and with my heavy handed driving. So I upgraded to a GP intercooler. The car is nice cold all the time pretty much and drives like hell fast and has never had (touch wood) an engine fault and its been like that spec for over 35k now and has a total of 60k on the clock! Oh my injectors are stock 330cc (not JCW) and I run the car all the time at WOT in 5th and 6th etc and never had a problem. Plugs always look fine, temps all stay at right levels etc etc

Should this be good for about 230bhp? My main fear is fuel consumption, im a poor student, drive to uni every day. So fuel is already quite an issue. Will i notice a big decrease in mpg?

Errr, is it just me our has 'poor student' taken on a different meaning in recent years? Not ony can you afford the petrol to drive to uni every day, but you own a mini and have money left over for Mods ..... don't mind me I'm just jealous that I wasn't in such a fortunate position as a student. Eeee when I was a lad .......b#ggerit - just got blind sided by oldness.

Must be, I drove an 1990 Fiat Uno at uni, then managed to just stump up for a 1997 Fiesta Zetec in my 4th year but that was after doing hard graft as well as uni lol!!

How anyone can afford a Mini Cooper S (let alone a modded one), maintain it and put petrol in it is truly beyond my comprehension. Now in my 3rd year of work after leaving uni at 26 can I only just manage to stump up the cash for one!!

Please enlighten me how??????!??!

Hahahaha that gave me a good laugh

Basically guys, i was car mad from the age of about 13. While my mates where buying computer games, i was saving just about every dime!
When it came to buying my first car, i looked at clios etc, but then i drove the MINI, my one, and loved it. I still needed some finance for it, but most of the money i had saved up!
Bought my S a few months ago...and the only way i can afford it is because i have worked since i was 16, and i actually have 2 jobs at the moment!!

I barely can afford to run it though your right

Thats enough of my life story now.

regards Drew

I'd suggest that most of the fuel consumption depends on your driving style, I've got a 210BHP JCW and on most tanks return 31 MPG. If I drive harder it reduces, A-road cruising will return higher numbers.
