Janspeed Manifold and sports cat married with a Milltek CatBack. Very civilised untill you open the throttle at which point. your MCS will sound like a Touring/Rally car. ( and not like a chavs nova )

I would say Milltek is the most commonly bought exhaust from what I read on here, and they do sound very good.

I personally have a borla agressive cat back exhaust, nice and lound especially whe you get it in the higher rev range. The quality of the borla is truely amazing.

Milltek cat-back.

In cabin noise is still very subdued.

Personally if I wanted a bit more noise Iwould buy a Janspeed Manifold first and keep the stock exhaust system.

This is okay unless your exhaust is riddled with rust, then ifthis is the case a Borla Street would be my first choice

Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02

I was going to start a thread asking nearly the same,
Im having the Janspeed Manifold & High Flow Cat fitted along with a few other mods next month and was wondering if changing the rest of the exhaust from the JCW would be advisable?
Im thinking either Alta, Miltek or perhaps Borla
Let me know please your opinions on which would be best for me..........

The planned mods can be found here

Agreed... I actually like the sound of the standard exhaust with reroute and a performance manifold. But might be too loud for some....

Manifold + re-route pipe (aka one ball) =

Not too loud, not nova sounding but just right.

GTT, GRS, Janspeed, JCW, OMP + various other bits - 232.6bhp, 191.2lbft on 1320's rolling road

If you are keeping the JCW, the kink removal mod might be. Cheap and might have contributed in my improved dyno & 30-70mph times (lower back pressure?)

Oh, and I have a GTT manifold to go with my JCW catback. A quite good combo as a high performance manifold often makes a surprisingly big impact on how loud the exhaust is...and JCW is one of the quietest after market exhausts out there. Even now, my colleague just asked me if my "exhaust is broken" with all the pops and bangs it is making

I found that the roar in the cabin was quite high in any car with a performance manifold/cat. Cat back is better if you want external noise with no massive change to internal noise. Manifold gives power but cat back exhaust gives nice noise with little tiny power but more standard inside the car.

Milltek is one of the best IMO

in keeping with the topic can anyone tell me how the alta exhaust sounds? im fitting my GRS,alta V2 tomorrow but noticed my standard exhaust its nocking-vibrating noise when i rev it or move off seems it may be on its way out or just needs adjusting not sure but was looking in to some aftermarket ones anyway! was hoping to just keep the standard system and buy a janspeed mani! seems the exhaust is first,

iv seen the miltek is popular i had one on my trophy well made but quite liked the look of the single route and single backbox of the alta whats everyones views and pics fitted?

thanks!
