Offline | I always thought there were 3 different superchargees but never found what i read that made me think so. There are 2 different types of charger, the ones with grey coating and ones with black coating: I think these are eaton 4 and eaton 5 (could be wrng by MINIAC will correct me if I am ![]() Original Shape R53: 163bhp S, had a supercharger with grey coating and standard pulley (Eaton 4 i think) 200bhp JCW S had a supercharger with black coating and smaller 11% reduction pulley (Eaton 5 I think) Faceifted R53: 170bhp S, had a supercharger with black coating and standard pulley (Eaton 5 i think) 210bhp JCW S had a supercharger with black coating and smaller 11% reduction pulley (Eaton 5 I think) ![]() |

Offline | Yeah both of the JCW ones I mentioned are the same, didnt mean to insintuate the extra power came from the charger. If anything was trying to show the opposite, hence everything I mention for the 200 kit is identical to the 210 kit) There are effectively 2 types of supercharger, and 2 types of pulley. 1st grey coated supercharger ony came with one pulley size though, the stock one. ![]() |

Online | Damo is correct ... MCS models built prior to July 2004 had a 4th Gen Eaton supercharger. The 5th Gen Eaton supercharger was used in MCS models built July 2004 onward and in all JCW Engine Tuning Kits. The supercharger in the JCW Kit had a reduction pulley. |

Offline | You do not really want to start an argument do you?? I would advise either 15 or 17 with the stock intercooler and 19 has to have a larger cooler. "idealy" User preferance really, a lot will say 15 and the rest will say 17 OR if you have the JCW then most people upgrade the crank a percentage. Personally when mine was an S I had the 17% and thats was quite nice, but if you have it at the crank then you can rev quicker. Also personally I think 19% is a little small... |

Offline | For power, 15%, for torque, 17%. 15% is probably the best for the supercharger. I run a 17% as wanted more torque. As for the 19% needing an intercooler, more than likely, but it would spin the charger to fast to be efficient IMO. ![]() |
