| MINI2 Regular | Hi you'll miss the mini when its gone,i just sold my JCW because i wanted more power and traction, got a 2.5 wrx impreza with prodrive performance pack.270ps 420Nm torque but i'm missing the JCW big time.Yes its quicker 0-20mph and from 80mph+ it just pulls but it doesn't put a big smile on my face like the mini did.Nor has it got the sound track. Got a feeling i will end up with another cooper s. 250hp with a LSD will do the trick. |

| Banned | I know i'll miss it. But for everyday its not for me anymore. It would be a perfect weekend car to blast around with but cant afford to keep 2 cars. I will probably buy one in a few years when insurance is a little less and i can afford to go full on with the cars performance. 230 at the moment feels very quick but i always want more more more power!!! Its the character of the car that makes you smile with the mini. You could buy a car with double the power and not like it half as much. I will make sure i thouroughly test drive whichever car i go for to make sure im not making a mistake. I used to have a suzuki carry 1.3 that i used to deliver tiles. It was to this date the maddest funniest vehicle i have ever owned. As it was a box on wheels with no load in it was really quick. I had a little traffic light drag race with a new golf 1.6 and blasted him. I was laughing for about half an hour. After a year of owning it, started getting a little tired of it turning into a snake on the motorway with a heavy load. So i traded it in for a new mercedes vito metallic black, alloys, cd player, aircon etc. Before getting it i thought this will be so much better as it had everything and it could take huge loads without fuss. When i got it i though it had no character whatsoever and got pretty bored of driving it within a month. I still have made a promise to myself that i will buy another carry one day just for a laugh ![]() |

Offline | I am not sure what header you are talking about but I am definitely wanting to see the massive HP his car is putting out being able to beat an M5 and hanging with a Lambo ![]() Obviously if he is putting that much HP out maybe Roland should park his stage 3 and 4 head and only sell the stage 2 as it has all of the highest dyno plots. Offline | Ohhh....controversial! My cousin has no problems hanging with a V10 Lambo. Has a nice little stripped out Norris Design Nissan Pulsar GTi-R. 12's on the 1/4 mile without the NO2. then again, hes pushing over 400bhp. Its surprising the lead you can get on a supercar if you take them by surprise and they dont see it coming or are in the wrong gear/poor driver. Would have loved to have seen a vid of it. I have kept up with a 997 on the uphill corners around here myself, until they get to a decent length of straight road. (can I have $50 and a free RR session now please? hehe) |

| The Power Cube | Thanks for the vote of confidence, I like to think I am a good driver, but there is always room for improvement right? The difference between 300bhp and 500bhp in a straight line isn't really that great over a relatively short distance, you make the seconds by being able to put that power down - hence the quaife diff, brakes, suspension, wheels, struts, and all the "nice to have" components etc etc.. The guy in the Lambo was defo trying hard as I could hear the engine peaking in each gear, and I am sure that because he knew I was racing him he'd be WOT I suppose the low end torque of my car is enough to keep up over a 1/4 mile to a good speed. Yeah - if the track was a runway then he'd blitz me I guess, as he can do near 200mph without sweating. On that same day I blitzed a VX220 Turbo, I mean, he went backwards in my rear view, he too was flooring it. Roland said himself that my car seems to have an incredible torquiness low down (and through the range), for what it is.But where driving matters, on the road and on a track, 300bhp or 500bhp doesn't really matter too much - it's all in the torque and getting the power down - diff, tyres, wheels etc. Of course, you have to be a good driver too, and I like to think I can keep up with the semi-best ![]() I'm just addicted to driving well and always learning and improving. I'm not out to prove anything, but I do like giving my MINI the opportunity to shine against the notorious machines out there. I'm sharing these stories with you because as fellow MINI enthusiasts it's always fun to hear what we've battled against, and won. I thought we MINI guys stuck together right? ![]() Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

| The Power Cube | ...when they find out they can't loose me ![]() I always give them chance to acknoweldge my presence, it's not like i wave at them while speeding past them from their blind spot - that would just be silly. I let them get frustrated first to ensure they are in a WOT mood ![]() Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

| The Power Cube | ..because this is all being suggested with a distinct air of bad taste. Like you want me to fail for some reason. I have better things to do than bow to peoples whims. I will be RRing the car though, in my own time, using my own money. ...and yes, i will publish the results , and yes, it will be in a non-biased location ![]() Come on guys - i'm not trying to wind you up, i'm just sharing some good moments i have enjoyed can't you enjoy that with me? instead of against me? ![]() Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

| Tunnel Runner | Dude!! You wrote the book on the art of creating an air of bad taste if some of your wind up comments on here are anything to go by, you love stirring it ![]() I'll admit I was suprised by some of the cars you've smoked on the track but I'm honestly interested to see what bhp your car is running, but more importantly torque, because as I said on a previous thread I believe masses of torque laid down well out of a corner can give you a huge advantage coming on to a straight! Its all gravy though...I think more than a few of us just want to see what that power cube of yours is packing.... .... Mmm speaking of gravy I think I might have roast chicken for dinner tonight ![]() |

| The Power Cube | Nice one guys :-) I've earned the title of "King of Windups" . Which post by the way - am trying to find one posted on a Thursday at 9.09pmI've just had my tea, but now you mention gravy !!! grrr... not had chips and Gravy for aaaaaaages. Damn, is it only 6:30pm !!! i thought it was about 9pm ish!! Whooah. Yes, i think it is the torque that's doing it, esp out of the corner, the "2nd gear thrust" so to speak. Well, lets all enjoy the weekend. I've just been to pick up several bottles of Octane booster and a bottle of that new Castrol Edge oil this man will go to the ball on the 30th Jan... sorry... Track Day ![]() Cheers all. K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |
