My dyno results take two

Hi all

Having been to one dyno and getting slightly disappointing results I decided to take my car to 1320 autos for a leakdown test and compression test, also had my I/C cleaned out. After the tests were done my car was put on the dyno and achieved 225bhp. This was more like the figure I expected. I will post up the dyno sheet later.

Paul could you post up or pm me the WHP that it made as I can't remember.

Just like to say thank you to all at 1320 for a great afternoon

Regards

James

Sounds more or less like you've made a "JCW" car without using a genuine JCW kit - would that be fair?

I know you've not used the head or the JCW airbox, so I'd be really interested to know how you've gained the extra 25-30bhp over and above the 195 bhp that JCW 210 cars seem to actually push out.

Not a sarcastic question at all, I'm genuinely interested to see if the output of my "genuine" JCW can be improved - not that I've had it on a dyno yet as-is

Oh missed that off, I do have the JCW airbox. The extra power I have made is from spinning the S/C faster than the S/C on a JCW car. My boost pressure was 1.15bar and a JCW car would be under 1 bar boost pressure I would think, mabe someone has tested this? (A JCW S/C spins around 11% faster than stock and mine spins 15% faster than stock). The bigger intercooler give a better gain also than the stock intercooler on the JCW.

Also the JCW head does not give that much more power from what I understand as only the exhaust port is polished/cleaned up slightly.

Regards

James

P.S I never dynoed my car standard so it may have been putting out more than the 170bhp before I started playing

The best stock results we've seen on our dyno is BRM Cooper 06S which made 167whp and 195bhp, if my memory serves me right when we swopped the pulley and added a 15% and a GRS it made 224bhp I cant remember the whp figure.

And we all know how well BRM Cooper Mini goes as well

No I wouldn't pay for the conversion so made my own as I collected parts, done it quite cheap in the end, all new parts apart from the cat back and its cost me:

JCW air intake (new)delivered £218 from America and to my suprise new set of JCW 380cc injectors were in the box!!!!
JCW cat back £180
Pulley MED engineering £70 delivered
GP I/C £310
Fitted all parts myself apart from injectors and JCW remap and wiring up JCW inatake- dealer did this but due to a mistake they made I ended up getting the money back for the work they did so that was all F.O.C!!
Plugs £32 delivered

Just need a RMW head,1320 cam and jaspeed mani with stock cat fitted

Should be at least 260bhp then

Regards

James
