Oil temp gauges

Ok, i have seen various gauges over the last few years.

I am currently considering the JCW optional oil temp kit that goes under the window switches.

But also wondered on some of these SPA gauges, i have seen the ones in GRS's car which look nice again down below the switches, or i was thinking of going for Alta pod set that can go around the rev counter. Any ideas people. Don;t want spend loads ( i kinda can't )

The cheapest option would be an A pillar pod £25 and gauge of your choice various available, plus the temp sensor and a bit of wiring-
The greatest cost is the installation ,but if you DIY ,all up under £100

These SPA gauge aren't cheap, however you can set parameters so the red flashing light can come on at a preset value. This means you can keep your eyes on the track and not worry too much about looking at extra gauges, if the oil pressure does drop to a parameter set then you'll see a flashing light in the corner of your eye

If only I could find a pod that has blue lights, dial that can be set to anyone of the readings and monitors water, oil temp & pressure and boost. All on the LCD display but pressing a button to make the dial read the correct value for that input. With max and minimum threshold alarms. Wouldn't that just be really cool?? Or am I just after the moon on a stick?

Have you had a look at that dynodash? I know its not a gauge but its an LCD display that will monitor all of the above. Just wonder if the LEDs flash when one limit is reached?

Dynodash can flash but Oil Temp is not available from the ECU (no sensor on the Mini) boost and coolant temp can be monitor and alerts can be set !

Looking at the alta gauge pod and prosport gauges, how difficult are these to wire into the electrics? And where do you wire them too?

Also I was looking at getting them from the US, where in UK would be cheap for said items?
