Re map on R53 MCS

Woudl it be pointless to have a re map without having the reduced pulley? And if I had both done would I then need better quality brakes and air filter?

Should really have the pulley done, but a remap isn't always necessary even once the pulley is done as I think I have read on here that the ecu adapts. Paul from 1320 autos is still running stock air filter+stock map and the mods are putting out 247bhp and I think Roland (GTT)makes good hp with stock maps (maybe someone could back this up or advise if I'm wrong)

It isn't pointless having a remap on a standard S if you know why you want it. I will explain;
My S had issues with some sort of surge/flat spot when cruising at around 60-70mph. Also I found the DCS far too sensitive for my big feet, resulting in stalling at junctions and roundabouts.

So I decided to have the MTH remap, which is supposed to give extra bhp (you might notice the car does seem a little more eager to go) but more importantly the MTH remap completely cured the surge/flat spot and also alters the DSC cut-in point. All this makes the car much more driveable.

You don't need better brakes or a different air filter.

IMO the remap was well worth the money, simply to address what I considered to be 2 major problems with my car.

If you want more power, go for a pulley. Or perhaps a few more bits and pieces............

I never really noticed the difference in DSC with my MTH, sometimes it balances well and gives a nice smooth recovery, sometimes, like on 1st to 2nd change at redline almost pulls the car to a stop. I would personally spend my money elsewhere first, or wait for the RMW map when Paul @ 1320 can do them

I think it depends when you did the remap too. I used the old MTH before they went tuner files rubbish and they didnt modify the DSC until later. Wish id had my DSC traction control a little more passive...
