Offline | Very very very very very common on a modified MINI. Get someone to read the fault codes if you are worried but I bet its the P108 error. If you drive it nicely for a couple of days does the "emissions" light go off again? This is caused by the manifold pressure being higher than expected although I still dont know why it switches the traction control off. I would guess the acceleration calculation is higher than its tolerances. |

| Damned | I`ve been getting this as well on my Lohen modified MCS at relatively high speeds. I thought it was just a glitch in the bluefin remap software. Last time it did it was a couple of weeks ago & it reset as per ususal when I started it the following morning, but suddenly after around 4 miles of tootling along at 50mph I had 90% power failure & had to pull over. The EML came on, & the one with the engine logo and it sounded like i was only going on a couple of cyl`s. After switching off & on again it had reset itself & has been ok since ... touching stuff now ![]() ![]() In da Wud |

Offline | had mine come on a stay on recently turned out to be a failed sensor although I don't which of the three it could of been the garage replaced except it was the hardest to change, apparently it's shared circuits hence the traction issue |

| Banned | My engine light comes on quite a lot, today it showed error code P0420 through the Scan Gauge which is Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold. I'd been out using the performance box to finish the V-Power vs Tesco 99 test so it's not surprising it came on after 4 foot to floor runs. A list of error codes can be found here My traction control light comes on quite a bit also which is usually down to the car over boosting (normally in cold weather) especially if you've changed the pulley and CAI. Interesting to note your problem with power failure and the car sounding like it was running on a couple of cylinders as mine has done that a few times recently, although a cloud of smoke also came out the exhaust too. I took it to Paul at 1320 and he thinks it's to do with one of the sensors (forget which one) being faulty and over fuelling the car to the point where it almost floods the engine, at least thats what i think he said. Popped in to Mini to get a new sensor but they didn't have them on the shelf (two in particular go wrong a lot apparently according to the Mini Technician who agreed with Pauls diagnosis) so its booked in to have them fitted a week on Monday. I'll let you know if it sorts the problem. |

| MINI2 Newbie | my car started misfiring yesterday so went to the garage and had melted a plug ill post a picture in a minuite. what would be a solution to stop this happening again as i said only mods are 17% pulley and alta cai, so i was thinking if i got a Bluefin and injecters maybe? |

Offline | What plugs were you running?? If you melted iridium plugs then lucky escape on not trashing that cylinder...... 17% pulley with cooler plugs in most cases is fine on the standard fuel system as long as you are using a decent 98+ octane fuel. |
