Lastest BMW Engine Maps; Do they work on all cars ?

Hi,

Is it possible to get hold of the latest engine map for a pre face lift MCS and simply apply it to a older car say a 2003 model ? Or is each engine map for a MINI Cooper S unique from the factory?

If it is possible, where could you I get hold of the latest BMW engine map for the pre-face lifted MCS ?

Thanks

Perm

BMW will reflash the ECU map with the latest varient for your vehcile (Eg latest R53 map) for about £30-60. I had this done as I had some issues with my throttle and traction mapping. From my understanding any R53 map can go on an R53 wether pre or post facelift.

Biggest question would be why would you want to??

Also I believe all the maps on the pre-facelifts are the same especially since the ECU is the same. Later facelifts have a few quirks being a different setup....sadly that BMW are yet to fix.
