Offline | Hi, First ill introduce myself (as this is my first post i don't want you all thinking im just trying to get free info )I have a 2001 Mini Cooper Today i have fitted a cat back milltek mini cooper exhaust, and i really love the tone of it and the look, but where it is fitted it is about 4 - 5 inches below the rear valance, so it looks really low. i am pretty sure that this is not the normal, the exhaust that i have is the one that includes modified hangers for the 2004 model year, i was wondering do i still need to use my original back box hanger? as the back box is the exhaust hangers are way too long the get the exhaust into the correct position. any help much appreciated Thank You Edit: I have been reading a few more posts on here, and people are describing the exhaust being supplied with a number of hanger options, but mine was only supplied with hangers pre-welded onto the silencer box.. and they are about 5 - 6 inches high off the top of the box? |

Offline | You will need to remove your hanging strap and brackets completely from the car leaving just the four studs coming down from the floor. Go to your dealers and get the two rubber blocks for the later design hanging strap, put them onto the new backbox brackets then fix them up onto the four studs. |

Offline | A Solution (although a little unexpected) Right, i have had an update on what is going on with the fit. First i would like to say a thank you to Roadrunner Motorsport in Nottingham where this milltek came from. apparently on the dog an bone to milltek, they are aware of an issue where an unknown number of early mini's to have a lower floorpan at the rear (by approx 4inches about 10cm), So as a result will contact me to arrange an appointment at milltek direct, where they are going to modify / and or create a back box that will fit correctly. So all in all, the mini will look as it should very soon ![]() thank you for your input. Last edited by CooperPhil : Mar 6th, 2008 at 07:28 AM. Reason: spelling |
