Ooops my bad, forgot that I've changed the pulley since that 239 bhp run so its now running a 17% pulley! Still, great results... I'll post up a full review as soon as I get the chance to write it. But having just driven it tonight it is night and day different in terms of both speed and handling.

Thanks for all the great comments guys... I'm smiling from ear to ear after driving it!

Jan - Do you tune / re-map MCS without your head / components?

If so what would be the approx. cost?

Cheers

Sounds impressive, like you say what WHP was it ? ( as Jan would say) and you need to use the Surrey RR to get an independant comparison , also if you can, Milway Sports RR in Andover where I got 273bhp ,and that was only a GTT stage 2 head, not our stage 4.
AMD's RR is famous for high readings, so not ideal.
You should walk the (easier of the 2) 1 min 20 sec challenge round CC I laid down, would you like to increase the bet?
Still cant see why Louis car only gains 13bhp with this head, yet Big Shows gains 40 bhp?
I think the independant comparisons will help here, either that or could there be huge variations in the heads to explain this?
.

I think you should re-read your previous post on Mini2 about whp vs bhp.... I'll show you my whp Roland when you show me yours/Lee's

Thanks for the pointer re AMD, I know last time I did a back to back dyno comparison of 1320 vs Surrey RR dyno, Surrey gave me 3 bhp more but I could always take the 3 RR results and stick with the average

One thing to note with all this power is how well the car can put it down and last night I was truly amazed at how well even a none lsd car can put the power down if set-up properly.

The coilover set-up combinded with the powerflex bushes meant that I could power out of some very familiar Milton Keynes roundabouts last night at an unbelievable speed with no loss of traction... the car just points and goes... and goes... and doesn't stop until the next roundabout when I'm having to scrub off nearly twice the speed I was when the car was stock.

I'm going out for a good run today so I can put my Evo style write up together as promised but as pleased as I am with the headline grabbing bhp figure I'm more pleased with the way the car now handles that figure.

I honestly don't know, that's quite exciting if I am, I don't know of an M45 tuner car that has done more as I think Rolands was previously the highest but until GTT270 and Ant put their cars on the dyno we'll have to wait and see.

Plus I think Loui might overtake me on the bhp score when Jan tunes our cars

But Jan insists on WHP figures!..My car was 240 WHP, the graph was put up ,Ill put up again if need be. Can we see your WHP graph now. Also consider Milway Sports RR which mine was done on is slightly conservative, ie JCW 210's come out around around 197bhp.
When your first CC track day, might come & watch, no ones expecting you to do 1 min 18 on the first day so no pressure.

I'd love to see your graph just to compare where the power comes in and where the torque comes in... obviously yours is a higher spec conversion than mine as mine is lacking:

Optimised bypass valve
Twin bearing idler pulley
Adjustable cam timing sprocket
63mm throttle body
440cc Injectors

But once mine is tuned and the injectors go on it should be a fairer fight. Don't worry you're still the king of bhp at 6k rpm, just out of interest why didn't you take your old engine in your tuner car to 7,250 rpm on Millways dyno?

Also, don't forget all my mods are just 'bolt ons' (pulley, head, cam etc) whereas your old engine in your tuner car was opitmised to its max with the ported supercharger etc etc.

I've put up the dyno graph but it doesn't show whp so I'll have to ask Paul what the figure was. I'm not expecting it to be massively high because I'm running the earlier gearbox and very aggressive camber and for whatever reason mine has always suffered big drivetrain losses as against say Loui's car. Last time mine only gave 198 whp and 239 bhp at the fly but I'll find out what it is now... What whp did Lee's car make in the end out of interest?

Not booking CC until it the car is finished, got to put the Garrett T3 and 100 shot of nitrous in it first ... Seriously though... got to get the 440's and the tune done then get the car set-up at Bedford (as I know it best), then off to CC for some sighting laps, then some more tuition, then some private hot laps, then I'll invite you and whoever else wants to come over for a ganders.

Beating the 1 minute 18 secs would be great, but what I'm realy interested in is comparing the corner speeds of our 2 cars, which the performance box will do, as that will give a better indication of which suspension set-up is best as at the end of the day that's what the original thread was all about.

WHP vs BHP

Lol... the RMW head is $1,995, 1320 cam is £200 and the RMW injectors $400... so at todays exchange rate you're looking at £1,611... not sure what delivery would be on the head and injectors but it won't be a lot.

Fitting wise you're probably looking at about £400 + vat

Great thanks, do you know what the fitting cost is?
