Now do you have a dyno from when you have the stock pulley with the same tyres? Just trying to work out a guess of how much HP you are loosing from stock by using a 17% pulley.

p.s. the by pass valves were adjusted to be part open from factory as they useto stick so your statement of if it works then I dont need to fix it is very bad. As long as its adjusted to close fully then there is nothing to worry about and you wont be loosing boost. I can bet someone has already done it for you in the past!

No dyno when stock sadly...

And no-one to my knowledge has altered the bypass valve so I'm presuming it is still stock and still producing 281 bhp so I'll leave it be for the moment.

Normally Alan I'd agree but I'm fed up with this attitude that unless it has a GTT badge on it, it can't produce power and as I started this thread I'm entitled to be ******ed. Plus I've spent good money getting my car to where it is and making sure I show how I got there with dyno figures/graphs galore as I have nothing to hide. I just wish when I answer someones questions with facts/proof that I'd get the same answers to my questions in return. It's a little thing called respect.

But I'll retract my last comment to Roland as it was said with red mist.

it amazes me how people comment on topics they have little experience with. It seems to me that the most aggrevation on these forums come from customers defending the products they have spent their hard earnt money on - in a way, trying to convince themselves they made the correct decision. It's a bit like someone bullying your child, no matter if your child is right or wrong, you are always biased and naturally defend.

I, like some others, just take everything at face value. If Rolands products did not provide the performance and reliability that they do, then i would not have been able to complete all the track days i have (as with other owners vehicles), nor would i have returned so many times and spent £000's of my cash.

Rolands advice and workmanship has ALWAYS delivered, ALWAYS made perfect sense, and has been proven on road and track by many across all aspects of modification. For me, this is the black and white.

So, let's not argue just because we cant accept truths.

Dé ja vu

Cheers,
K.

I have no connection to any tuner, I own a ONE D for gods sake!!! As such I feel I can comment on this as a neutral.

I fully agree if you are happy with your package then by all means enjoy it, as I'm sure people do whether they spend money with Lohen, GTT, 1320 or whoever!!

You are obviously happy with your GTT conversion, and why not because I bet the thing is a beast. I would have very much liked to see it at the recent LMR event if you had been there, maybe at the next one!

The problem is that as you say people will always try to defend something which they feel strongly about. However your comment about truths seems a bit confusing....

Surely this thread proves that 1320 are capable of matching the highest level of performance that GTT currently offer without going to a turbo?

I'm happy to be proved wrong and in that case I will shut up.

James.

But because another tuner has provided me with more BHP than your GTT260 conversion you have to belittle it!!

don't fret BigShow.... these are the same types of comments that my US competitiors used before I buried them and left them on the track wondering

btw..... today could be the day for the big announcement.....

this thread is getting more funnier by the moment....

1. Now Roland wants whp
2. Now Roland contradicting himself again
3. how do you optimise a bypass valve that is fully closed already?

Wondered how long it would take you to pipe up Karl, you're nothing but predictable... My conversion doesn't come from one 'tuner' it comes from over 10 suppliers of performance products designed for the Mini so I'm not protective of anyone. If you note my thanks to 1320 and RMW was for their hard work and support not for fitting a 'package' but for helping me find the right mods to make the right power and then doing the spanner work...! Maybe I should change the thread to 'BigShows Car - Awesome Prelim Tuning Results'.

But because you have a GTT 'package' and you call yourself GTT270 (What does the 270 bit stand for by the way) you're sticking up for Roland as you say others do... I have no problem with that. But as you're such a GTT addict I suppose you'll fit GTT own wheels, brakes, tyres.. oh no you have to use someone else wheels, someone else's brakes (Porsche) and someone else's tyres... oh god will they survive on track as they haven't been made by GTT??

As ever if you want to argue why GTT is so much better than anyone else, lets do it in person rather than on here. I'll see you at the track.

Hence we dont recommend increased rev limit to gain power + new oil pumps at 50K if driven hard. Two cars with BMW faults in about 500+ with GTT proven conversions.

BigShow,

If I might note the date of Roland's post regarding 7,400rpm... January 28th 2005.

You therefore imply that, as a tuner, Roland has learned nothing since then - when I am sure this is not the case. In truth, people across all professions are constantly learning and constantly applying newfound knowledge in order to do a better job next time around. As advances are made and people grow wiser, positions and ways of thinking change. Certainly, I think differently now about a great many things than I did over three years ago.

As Snowie says, it is getting rather childish.

All the best,
Andrew.

I'm not really sure why all the fuss about bhp ......... there are dyno sheets from me showing the hp gains in whp all over NAM and Mini2. I know of NO other TUNER that has done this. Even the customers are posting them. I have had tuning days all over the country tuning cars in front of crowds of people so what kind of funny business can be done?

People need to get past their ways and learn what is really happening out there in the Mini world

The answer is quite simple GTT270 is going to have his stage 4 fitted this month, this is an ideal oppunity for Roland to put all his stuff from his old engine which made 272bhp/240whp at 6300rpm on GTT270 car then come down to Surrey Rolling Road and blow the RMW cars away on an independent Rolling Road.

If Karl aka GTT270 isn't up for it the I'm sure one of Rolands customers will be, they have an oppunity to be able to own the highest hp M45 engine car in the UK.

Cool that means that Karl aka GTT270 if he's up for it would be then known as GTT300

When I got my head fitted I thought that I would have been up around 250 / 260 bhp but alas no such luck but hey sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't!

I'm still interested to see what Karls GTT270 is pumping out not for bragging rights but for the Mini community as a whole.

Roland I believe has the highest hp M45 car at the moment - Karl's might be even higher but we need black & white evidence although with the figures being banded about above I think the 273 / 274 hp may become a 2nd best very soon.

Competition - don't you just love it
