stock crank and rods will hold 500whp.... why change them?

only reason we change them on the stroker is because you have to

I wonder if ANY GTT 270 will EVER step up to the dyno to show their guts? Lastly the oil pump thingy........ we have been reving to 8k without oil pump failures. The only ones we have seen fail are ones with crank pulleys.

The main reasons i am converting to the Turbo design are:

1) More Power (391bhp is always going to be better than 270bhp)
2) Efficiency - the scharger is using up costly bhp
3) Cooling - the Turbo is a higher calibre package, and runs at a lower temp than the current setup - equal cooling and safety on all pistons.
4) It's available, and i hate having excess money in my pocket
5) With all my other mods (pistons, cam, stg4 head, clutch, diff, etc. etc.) the Turbo will really shine
6) I was always going this route anyway

I'm not bailing on the GTT270 kit, it's quick enough for me and as a SCharger design it is awesome (road and track abuse for nearly 2 years now), but i'm a modding addict, adore the workmanship that comes from GTT, and the Turbo kit is a masterpiece (it worked first time it was built from the drawing board - that's awesome!)

I hope you appreciate this, and i am sure you do, you were just provoking a response, so here it is

I don't have anything to prove, it's my car, and i know how it drives and what it can battle against. The effort of a rolling road for me was too much due to logistics and timing. I thought it better to spend the money and time on replacing the oil pump instead. I'm not in the business of pleasing others just because they demand it at my expense and time. When i want to do a RR then i will.

I'd love to spectate the Surrey RR - who's going, where is it being held?

Cheers,
K.

At least you know that myself and Hubie tested those pistons for you, so you're know there good for 9000rpm 35psi and a 100 shot

Respect is always given to petrolheads who want more power, even more respect is given at the end of 1320ft if you're in front of me

Karl I completly understand why you're going for the 300T conversion, as I've said preiously it's the ultimate fast road/track conversion. And no you don't have to go on the rollers at Surrey just because others demand it, but having spent all that money on the conversion and as you said you love modding why would you not want to find out what power you're running, you could be running more than mine already!! As a petrolhead, which I think you are I just don't understand it but thats just the petrol in my veins short circuiting my central control unit

I'd love to see you on the rollers because there are some big hitters coming now and its great for the Mini modding community to see what can be acheived by all the tuners!

It would have sounded spectacular! Probably just like having a little F1 engine in your car.

I guess a better gearbox was somewhere on that list of parts?
