Offline | More thanks to 1320autos Just had my cooper s seen to by the folks at 1320autos. I would agree with everyone else here and say great blokes and they really know Minis. My first bit of modification and it resulted in 216bhp with a pulley change and the car feels completely different to drive. Will go for urethane front bushes and a larger rear anti-roll bar next, plus a set of the yokohama paradas that were on bigshow's car. Along with Mintex PADs it should make track days a better experience. Bigshow's car is an awesome car and I like the way it has kept a standard look about the car. What a Q car. One question for the wise people here. Driving home after a long slow motorway journey I gave the car a bit of stick and noticed a bit of black sooty smoke in the mirror. Is this 'cos the car is running rich and is it OK? |

| Tunnel Runner | Congrats on the new power mate, that's a great result from the pulley change. Thanks for your comments on mine, like to keep it as a wolf in sheeps clothing as it helps to annoy Civic Type R drivers ... which with your new power you'll be doing too ![]() Mine often gives out a bit of black soot after a run on the dyno and its nothing to worry about as its better to be a bit too rich than too lean It's because you've been giving it beans on the dyno then, taking it easy and giving it beans again so the car probably just chucked a bit more fuel down the pipe as it woke up to your right foot ![]() MiniTorque.com |

Offline | thanks. Thanks for the explanation, I thought it might be that. Are your yokohama parada's a big improvement on normal road tyres and is it worth adding strut braces to the list of handling improvements? Wanting to do a few more track days and I was frustrated by the amount of understeer in the car. |

Offline | Highly recommend the Yoko's in the dry, little bit slippy in wet but very predictable and keeps you a sensible speeds in the rain. Can highly recommend the GTT braces (if not their desinger/creater ) and I felt that the one that made the biggest improvement was the lower mid brace they sell. But then I already had a top brace before fitting the GTT top one which may explain why others recommend the top one as big improvement.Very £££, and to be honest think the lower front brace is no better than the cheaper OMP one. But the others are mint ![]() As for reducing understeer, best thing for that would be a rear anti roll bar ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Strange isnt it, what is even more scary is that Cameron beat a GP by 7bhp with a 15% and GRS IC on the same day and was only 16bhp behind Graham from GRS ![]() MINIaddiction :: Log in Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02 It's not how much you spend but how well you spend it |
