Reroute mini one exhaust to centre

Hi sorry to post another exhaust question -had a think today and wonder if its possible to reroute the standard one exhaust in anyway to the centre and have a twin tailpipe put on?
Im not after performance gains or sound just the look.
Thanks

don't think i've heard of that being done before and i'm not too sure if it is actually able to be done due to the floor pan layout... i could be wrong though

I've heard of it being done - someone told me about it on the Dales run. Though, I can't remember who it was I was talking to at the time. As is often the way, I remember little specks of information but not the critical details or who I heard them from.

I gather what was needed was some piping and brackets to change direction of the out-hole and then the black trim along the bottom from a CooperS (available via dealers) would fit other models of MINI too. For some reason, a standard CooperS exhaust wouldn't fit - no idea why though. Never investigated it any further than that, as it wasn't something I was going to do to my own car.

Good luck!

Andrew.

Doesn't the spare wheel get in the way - hence why the exhaust is off to the side?

Unless you could route it around the spare wheel...?

What spare wheel? I don't know of many who actually have the spare wheel fitted, as the MINI Mobility system seemed a more popular option.

I don't know why a standard R53 system wouldn't fit an R50, but providing you didn't opt for the spare wheel then I can't see much getting in the way if you had an aftermarket reroute... can you?

It has been done before by someone in Northern Ireland. His old one has the rerouted exhaust to the centre. Im sure he will see this topic and post up the photo.

Yes it can be done, and there is a better exhaust tone, and performance gain.
you will need the cooper s lower bumper trim /bumper due the cut out in the middle
There are lots of places to mount from ,underneath and one of the existing hangers can be used -The last one we did we used a bmw rear box ,I think an older 3 series, but it was perfect.

Thanks

Thanks minimania and all the other people who have posted- good news at last- so basically for it to work i need to get someone to reroute the exhaust into the centre, i presume making custom hanging points and pipes and then put a twin pipe onto the end of it? or as you say the bmw rear box? (minimania-what was the reason behind this? was it for noise and performance? or just a reliastic twin pipe?
Approx how much am i looking at for this to be done?
Many Thanks
