Offline | Its a form of forced induction..... the induction pipe has a small fan in it which will be spun up electrically to draw more air into the engine. I think they're exagerating their claims slightly though. A fart up the air intake would probably be more effective. Personally I would risk fitting any non tested or approved parts to my pride an joy. Its a bit different than fitting one to a £500 Corsa You have to also factor in the extra strain on pistons, head, clutch, gearbox.... ![]() ![]() |

Offline | If the output flow exceeds the engines NA demand then yes it will work but since a ONE or Cooper has no way of dealing with boost pressures it will just lean the engine out. BANG! lol! It is a good idea in theory but I dont believe electric compressors are quite there for the demand of larger engines. |

Offline | Good on them! I see its a 1.2L but still 1.2L eco engine on cruise and similar to a 2L or probably better torque than a 2L when you put your foot down. Would be great for a small/medium sized car and if they then use deceleration for the alternator only then brilliant! |

Offline | One of the members of North American Motoring bought one even after being warned that they would not work. It drew 60 amps from his battery, and still did not make a difference in HP. Junk is a kind word for the device. ![]() ![]() |

Offline | It'd be interesting to test their claims that it eliminates turbo lag... if the little motor in it is powerful enough, then then you could stick it on the front of the intake to help your great big whacking turbo spin up during low rpms. Then you get all the top-end power of a really big turbo and lessened lag at the bottom end. ![]() As aforementioned, though, I wouldn't want to try it on an engine that's not designed to cope with forced induction. * * * * * NeuroBeaker Proud owner of "Zeus" (a 'slightly modified' 2004 Mini ONE). |
