Bigger brakes on the rear?

Hi,

Just wondering if there is any swaps or kits you can do to put bigger brakes on the back of the S. I've just got some gp wheels on my Cooper S and its crazy how small the rear brakes are.....

So is there any swaps that can be done from other minis/front ends or any other kits available?

As Mark said but also you'll upset the brake balance by making them bigger... same happens if you go too crazy on the front as it lifts the rear and the abs kicks in meaning you end up with a longer braking distance than when stock.

Ok thanks for the replys. Thing is I'm getting 330mm brembo discs and 4 pots up front... Will that still upset the back end?

Demon Tweeks do Brembo kits for front and rear. The fronts are more expensive so bigger? No details on sizes in DT's catalogue but give them a ring and they will find out for you. I would think this would be your best bet for retaining front/rear balance and bigger brakes all round.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

I have 310mm discs on the back (Winner Power 310mm 6 pot on front - matching 310mm on back using OEM calipers - they have an extension block fitted)
They are cosmetic more than anything plus the Hand brake cable just fits on cos of the extension blocks on the calipers, the rear brakes sometimes squeek
