| Tunnel Runner | Currently got the Cooper Borla on mine... wow!! It's louder than the Milltek but it makes a much more 'powerful' noise if that makes sense.. like the look of having a single pipe on the right of the car too. Will do some drive-by's at the weekend. It's also 10lb lighter than the Milltek ![]() |

Offline | Problem is some sound awful so its more about finding a note you like and gives you the performance you want. I prefer the milltek sounds as a few exhausts i've heard now are just horrible, tinny and raspy. |

Offline | Thanks for all the repsonses...it seems its not just the cat back system that makes the big difference its the manifold and exhaust combined... So on that note has anyone had any experience with the 2fast2cool2 Manifold on ebay?? They are stanless with a de-cat pipe and look identical to the GTT unit...only they are £200 Can someone give me an opinion, should i stay away from ebay cheapies?! Also dos anyone know if you can fit the JCW back boxes to a standard cooper S middle section? think by not using the JCW middle section you are losing a silencer = loud! Cheers |

Offline | Please avoid cheap stuff, i've always said by cheap... by twice. JCW needs a new centre section: JCW Prefacelift backboxs (no flat section) approx £290 JCW tips approx £70 JCW Centre Silencer approx £160. Believe me a 4-1 Manifold and JCW cat back is loud!! Avoid the face-lift with flat section though, it does show how mass market JCW is as not all of us have a cabriolet lol .If you don't want something too loud I suggest you get a quiet-ish cat back and manifold rather than a loud-ish exhaust and then a manifold later as I've head the miltek cb & manifold... would make god of thunder blush ![]() |

Offline | Yes that was me as I was out in the last 2 sessions at top gear in the RHD GP - there was no way the LHD one was getting on the track as it was only 2 days old & only had 82 miles on the clock The set up was JCM 4/2/1 manifold JCM Sports Cat JCM German Challenge rear boxes - full pipe (drilled full length) Yes it was loud, I liked it (except in town) but the wife hated it. As of last week JCM UK challenge back box - half pipe (drilled half length) It is much more refined and will be staying on It will be interesting to see how Ant finds my German set up when he has it fitted this week. In Italy |

| MINI2 Master | well fitted this morning along with change of rear pads, Tony and the guys whacked iton with in an hour. Just driven back into London, and all i will say is, noise is very purposeful, backfires like a ***** on WOT and around town is gorgeous. Does not seem to be any difference in performance, And the rear pipes look very purposeful, no show, just straight pipes to let the air out. Can;;'t wait to get the GTT manifold on with it now. Best bit is how helpfull minimotorsportcentre are and how reasonable on costs. i left shoreham with a smile thats for sure |

Offline | Well as Paul said I would stay away. I bought it and I had top re-drill couple of the holes to align the manifold to the head (they quote every mani is test, well obviously not!!!) and the threads on the o2 sensors holes were not very good IMO. It was very loud though with the decat but I ended up selling it and buying a Janspeed mani (this may be for sale in the near future )So basically you get what you pay for ![]() Oh and I think the bhp gain was about 1 or 2 horsepower (duno where they got 16bhp from ) |

| MINI2 Master | milltek, but does'nt match the ports on my head as the GTT has very large ports. where as the Janspeed matches pretty much spot on, and getting the manifold from Roland as its as everyone else agreas better than janspeeds own version and cheaper too from GTT. as mad as it seems. Plus i have already had a warranty claim on my milltek so this one is only 3 months old, i did'nt expect to have that on a milltek product. Oh and on the gtt / janspeed one i can run decat for stupid loud and to prolong that cat a bit. I'm just having a play, worst case scenario i just sell one of em on ebay, theres always a buyer out there THANK GOD FOR EBAY OR MY GARAGE WOULD BE RAMMED WITH CRAP!!!!! ![]() ![]() will post up a sound clip latter on, the manifold will be changed over in the next few weeks as gtt/janspeed are 4 weeks out of stock. |

Offline | Your car would be soooooooooooooooo loud on tunnels runs Yes the Janspeed ports are big but I still had to do some grinding to port match mine up to the head but still not as perfect as I would like it ![]() The welds do look much better on Rolands/Janspeeds tig welded one though when you compare it to Janspeeds mig welded one |

| MINI2 Master | yeah its never going to be a perfect match, both Roland and Mini motorsportcentre have said that, thats where money comes in and if you are racing pro i suppose you spend the money and get the head and manifold matched milimetre perfect. Yep i'm looking forward to the next tunnell run. hopefully i get to try the decat on for that ![]() ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | basically a man in a shed looks at what Mittlek and Janspeed and all the other reputable exhaust manufacturers have made, gets his metal pipes out, bends em in roughly the same shape, looks alright, bangs on a sporty sounding label, then looks at what the real manufacturers are charging, polishes his pics up nicely then bangs it on ebay for half the price. Zero effort, nice return on cheap product, a virtually un tested item on your car. You'd be better off sticking to stock as at least that would have been tested. Milltek janspeed and the others charge 400-500 for a reason, beacuse they have spent time designing and testing the item and further modifying as time goes on. So how can some nobody make the same thing for half the price. thats a basic reason. ![]() |
