I've just been 1320d ... :D

As you guys all know I recently bought a cooper s for the wife (52 plate with 57k on the clock) well today I took it to 1320 Autos to get them to give it the once over and maybe do something a little bit special.

Chris/Paul you guys are brilliant. Chris thank you for your time today, thank you for the good tips on the car and thank you for the use of the lighter.

Basically Chris gave the car the once over, compression/leak test, oil change, brake check etc and after deciding the car was in good nick we decided to change the supercharger pulley and belt.

What can i say !? so on the dino it came back as 202bhp at the flywheel and I tell you what on the motorway you can really feel it. 4th gear 3.5k RPM and whoosh you are off. 1,2,3rd gears dont really have anything extra it's more as you come into 4,5,6th gears when you really start the push the car.

Anyway just wanted to say a big thank you and will talk soon about the extra work

to anyone whose just got their cooper s .... change that pulley now !!

I was thinking about going down the same route.... Is it ok to just do the pulley and belt or should the intercooler be changed aswell?
Are there any problems/dangers in running a standard intercooler after the pulley and belt 'upgrade'?

Nice one Baloo the chaps at 1320 are great...

PandaDan I had my pulley and belt changed and ran for nearly a year before buying an Intercooler... Didn't cause me any problems tbh... Getting an IC as well though has changed the car...

alta 15% reduction i believe ... ask the guys they'll tell you. as for the IC, i was reassured that the car would be fine and from my previous experience I think it will be. you can see the effects more when you really push the car and to be honest i dont think you'll do that on the roads so it should be fine.

As I said to chris I didnt want to start spending to much just yet so this was the suggested first step. Step 2 is the IC upgrade Step 3 possible a map, as and when im ready. I also think a lot of guys have done this first off so it's tried and tested.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. Sounds like I'll be paying a visit to 1320 soon!
I've wanted to have a pulley and belt done for a while now but didn't want to pay out £££ for an new intercooler. cheers guys.
