Hi,

I have a 2002 November build mini and I was just wondering what transmission fluid it takes? I rang up the dealer and they said Ihave to get under the car and have a look to see what green sticker is on it and quote them the code..... fat chance of that happening.

Does anyone know off hand what the code is for this build or what type of fluid I should buy?

If your car is a Cooper (manual)and has the Midland gearbox which I think it will have then the oil is MTF oil. Basically its 5W30 engine oil.

The Getrag gearbox uses a different oil in the Cooper and if it is the Cooper S with LSD it is different again

Sorry its a Cooper S. Its the transmission oil I'm after... engine oil is sorted

The best stuff.

Many also prefer Redline MTL; any oil with the same classification can be used, but quality transmission fluids with the correct additive packages are recommended.
